Breath of the Wild is the official subtitle for Zelda U/NX, first gameplay trailer

This sorta matches Horizon in some other aspects, while horizon seems to be going for an interspersed high intensity combat with much less engaging survival, Zelda seems to be going all out on Survival elements with varied combat. The question then becomes what is the decision making process for the player?

The people around here wanting "dark", "gritty", "mature" Zelda. Don't we have enough of this with RPGs? I want some colors, damnit, and I most certainly got it.

Really? I'm disappointed in the lack of color - it's all washed out. Witcher 3, Uncharted 4, etc are all far more bright and colorful.

Taking some cues from Dark Souls i see.

-Ruined world

-multiple weapons and armors to equip

-No force tutorial that treats the player like an idiot (About time!)

-Enemy health bars when locking on to them

I'm really liking what i'm seeing. I just hope to god that the open world isn't ubisoft style and filled with boring filler content.

Even Ico/SotC. All the games inspired by Zelda seem to be inspiring Zelda now. This is a very good thing.

Very pleasantly surprised with all of this, including the stuff in the trailer. I wasn't bothered by the sparseness of it all.

Might be the first console Zelda I dive into since LttP.

I feel like this and Horizon will scratch two different sides of the same itch for me.

This is one rough-looking game. I guess it is what it is being on the Wii U and all, but it looks more dated than I imagined. Barren overworld and textures that can only described as smears.

Game still has 9 months left in development.

Every Nintendo game at E3 gets the same criticism, and a few months before release they show a new trailer and the game looks a lot better.

Fucking hell....why is this not blowing me away? The very first reveal trailer sure did. While i really dig the new features and how RPG like it is, the world so far seems so empty and void of wild life, if that's the right wording. Where are the wild animals from the very first trailer? I think it showed sheep and deer?

Just animals that are there for the atmosphere or any other purpose. Maybe they will be added later on, but it feels so empty to me.

Love everything about this including the salt it's pouring in somes' veins. This is my dreamt up Zelda gameplay and I can't be more impatient to learn about the game's depth and story.

Honestly, the game blew me away. I think it looks amazing and I can't wait to play it. Will probably make me buy a NX, which I wasn't planning at all.

Finally a game that beats every game on the e3.
It's just insane, it could be the best game ever made.
It has dark placed, but i don't really want the next x100 cinematic game that looks real, it will just be boring again.

About Emily

- no Voice act as we have seen, she said beside link, that every character would have voice acting.
- MAybe not showed yet, but you don't see anything about female link, doubt we would see it.

I decided to ignore all NX info from her.

Awesome trailer. Looks really amazing. I saw the playthrough and was not too excited but the trailer has such great atmosphere and gives us a big Zelda world we've all been wanting.

Didn't Nintendo intend to have fire spread in long grass way back before A Link to the Past? Those guys never let ideas die, huh?

Seems like Nintendo is borrowing from a lot of other games for this and I am not complaining. LoZ has needed a refresh and so far it's turning out well. I like the art style, it feels like a mix of Wind Waker and Skyward Sword.

Still though. 'This Zelda will be so brand new!'

-Weapon durability
-Item stats
-Loot
-Crafting
-'Follow the point on your map'

Come the fuck on, you're playing catch up to a decade of open-world game design that you should have been at the forefront of with this series and you know it.

You have a point but other open world games still haven't caught up to Zelda dungeons. The dungeons in Zelda games are amazing and are what make the game. Compare the repetitive caves of an Elder Scrolls game to even the worst Zelda dungeon.

We don't have see that lot to be sure. And in the wild the animals are not everywhere. But with the fact that you can/have to hunt I guess there will be many animals.

I need this on NX. I really don't know why they are pushing it for the WiiU this late in the game. I love the WiuiU, but once they said it was also coming for the NX I instantly lost interest in thsi version.

It's Twilight Princess all over again, well with more time I think. why aren't they pushing the NX and this version for the NX?

The NX should come out with this Zelda game first or at least both at the same time and it also needs a wii sports NX and it will survive.

Bolded is probs whats giving me that empty world feeling i guess they were having performance issues still and decided to cut them for this demo ?

I'm really excited for this game. The demonstration has me hyped. I like that they have decided to try a different direction, and I think it looks like it will turn out great.

The last game to do all that well was literally winning GOAT awards and has people saying it's the best game they've ever played.

I think this game would greatly benefit from a graphical upgrade with NX as I love the visual style. But better draw distances without any pop-ins (and no slow-downs) would do wonders for it.

I love how the game starts without much of a backstory and just let's you explore the world. Also loving the decaying world setting and the opening in this sci-fi kinda cave.

Not sure about the thousands of things to collect though. I hope there will be some kind of capacity limit otherwise it would become pretty meaningless.

Having voice acting is actually a plus in the way they've shown so far, there's a guiding voice that seems to lead the way instead of having to read text and forcing you to stand in place while you scroll through all of it.

My favorite thing about Zelda games has always been exploration and this game promises that in spades. Now I hope we get a glimpse into a dungeon to confirm they still have my second favorite thing about Zelda games intact.
Also, this looks like a technical marvel, Let's not forget this is running in a WiiU. Comparing it with Witcher 3 is silly...
