Because he specifically and repeatedly said they would not do that.
When the market reaches a point when competing with other headsets is the main focus, they're going to have to do this kind of thing.Because they said they wanted to avoid that.
I just feel bad for Firaxis guy, because how do you even compete with palmer

Are these guys going to be the last guests tonight?
There's room for both, I know I'm definitely more interested in Civ 6 than VR personally.
I say that as someone who has spent the last 14 months working on and off on VR experiences
Damn, it's gonna be softballs for Palmer. Oh well, this isn't really the forum for that kind of grilling.

Thanks. They said they were going late, so I highly doubt it.
Eh, the Phil Spencer thing last year made sense. It could be handled in a decent way here.
Not saying it's the right time for it, just that it would happen eventually. This comment tells me you have not been paying close attention to the VR market and community, and have little to no understanding of why Oculus VR going back on this is a bad thing for them and VR in general.
And it wasn't really a burn on Phil specifically, but the industry as a whole

I haven't been following new Civ super closely (as the coverage is so thin and spread out among 200 different sites), but as someone who was worried about Civ 6 because of how piss poor Beyond Earth was, hearing that the guy behind the expansions of Civ V is lead designer makes me back on board.
So am I!
I love love love love Civ.
I just find Palmer endlessly compelling
Palmer posting on Reddit during the shipping delay issues and his replies to people pointing out that he was going back on promises really made me lose a lot of respect for him and Oculus as a whole. He used to be such a great and enthusiastic voice for VR. Now... he's hard to listen to... for me, at least.

Phil Spencer tomorrow, cool.
Probably no Kudo.
I want Ubisoft Cane Master guy to come on

Idk I kinda agree that trailer made me care about this new God of war release. I'm gonna follow it
That's disappointing. Was he being shitty about it?
Anyone miss the roundtable style they used to do for these? I like the new format, but the old style felt a lot more surprising and fun.
Did he ever show up again? I only ever remember him being on once years ago. When is EviLore going to show up?
It's known, but Jeff is such a pro with the questions, they always tie in together seamlessly.
Did GB watch the Ubisoft presser?
