Nintendo Treehouse Live @ E3 2016 Thread [*LIVE*] (No childish commentary allowed)

Okay GAF, I need a quick recap of Treehouse today. I woke up late cause me and my brother kinda stayed up all night playing Star Wars Rogue Squadron 3.

- Pokemon GO Q&A. Release of the GO device is in July IIRC
- New IP is Ever Oasis from Grezzo. Trailer is on Nintendo's YT Channel
- Boxboy 2 Release in June (?)
- New Mario Party doesn't look terrible

The stuff I was hoping for in the RPG segment never came to past (DQ7, Mother 3). Sad I watched the last few hours. Time to go work out. Guess I'll watch whatever comes out later today concerning DQ7, seeing there's no apparent timeframe for it.

Really glad that they are showing more Zelda later tonight, I am starting to warm up to it, I must have been in a fowl mood yesterday for some reason.

Sorry if I annoyed anyone with my inexcusable childish behaviour yesterday.

30 minutes behind. GO went on for too long.

Ha ha so glad that I was working when they were streaming Go as I would have been annoyed.

The YW2 logo is the fucking ugliest thing I've ever seen in my life, this is some clip art shit right here. Level-5 games are always so stylish and this looks taken straight up out of an obscure shovelware game.

Maybe I am used to Pokémon but the version name just sounds awful.

It's bizarre how they've shunned DQ since they put IX out. Never pushed X here, haven't reprinted VI on DS, etc.

they've been gradually falling behind all day.

it probably has more to do with shuffling people in and out and getting machines with capture boards set up to get gameplay.

just relax guys E3 isn't going anywhere just yet.

Why does everyone want to see Dragon Quest VII so badly when it's already out in Japan? The only thing you'll see here that you couldn't already find online is English (although maybe people are looking forward to seeing that).

English gameplay plus a potential release date announcement.

Edit: Talking to NPCs and reading the dialogue is one of DQ's strong points, so the game being in a language that people understand is important

We want a release date, no one actually wants to watch Nintendo's marketing team demo most of this stuff.

Because we hope they announce a release date.

They've had a mostly good track record with releases of mainline games (though I can understand why DQX was never brought over). The spinoffs have been another story, however.

I never got to play DQVII. I want to see English footage so bad. I love DQVIII.

Mostly a combination of wanting to see English footage and getting a release date out of it that isn't a vague "2016".

DQ6 not getting a reprint is easy to explain, since Nintendo really wasn't in the habit of reprinting DS games, outside of the super evergreen titles like Super Mario 64 DS and Mario Kart DS. Everything else is on Squenix being fuckish towards the series.

It's not bizarre if you have ever looked at sales numbers for VI and Joker 2. Or even non-Nintendo games like DQ Heroes.

DQIX was a fairly big game, considering, and then the IP just fell off the face of the earth as far as America is concerned. I am glad (a lot of) the games continue to keep coming out but I can't really fault money-men for shaking their heads at any mention of Dragon Quest in the U.S.

Here is the latest schedule, straight from e3.nintendo.com:

They finally adjusted the times, things have been pushed back, still plenty of time for the rest of the upcoming lineup.
