Breath of the Wild is the official subtitle for Zelda U/NX, first gameplay trailer

I'm not going to complain if there isn't one, because the game will have a ton of stuff, just pointing out that climbing isn't really a replacement for the kind of thing a hookshot type item gives to me. Think of it as the difference between being able to run up walls and a short blink forward in a different game. Nether really replaces the other, just empowers your character in a different way. And that is of course separate from how a hookshot/grappling hook item interacts with enemies in the game as well. The shield boarding is the thing that got me excited the most from all the stuff shown so far. Like I said, extra movement abilities are something I love in games.

Imagine if they implement the hookshot so that you can launch into the air and open the paraglider ala Just Cause and Arkham City.

I want it all, but I really want the Whip and Grappling Hook for tripping up enemies and taking off their armor and weapons. Also using the Grappling Hook like Just Cause to pin enemies to the ground or to each other.

Okay, I finally confirmed V

That takes us to 23 letters!

This one was really hard to read. I noticed that there was writing on the elevators that take you down into the shrines, but the letters on them are upsidedown for some reason and the forcefield around the elevator shaft made the letters really hard to see. However I was able to make out O_INGPLA

so it's most likely MOVINGPLATFORM

Here's a clearer picture of V.

Who said climbing was replacement for the hookshot?

Wouldn't this brake various game systems then?

With hunting seeming to be a big thing, I hope they really work on the fishing too. If we can fish near that coastal area, oh man.

Now I wish we had a side kick so we could go out on a boat and catch big ocean fish and then our companion could say "We're gonna need a bigger boat" when we come across some crazy giant shark monster.

The main theme of BotW actually reminds me a bit of the movie The Last Emperor's theme, there's that similar melancholy, and it evokes that same regal-ness and wonder... the lost kingdom of Hyrule.

I love it. c:
It's just so stupid good. Zelda music always rules, but this is a whole new level. When the sweeping main refrain kicked in during the trailer debut, I damn near wept - not only was I seeing a visually stunning masterclass of art and world design design, not only did the gameplay look like everything I knew the series should aspire to but never thought it had the courage to actually try-but it was all wrapped in this insanely gorgeous orchestral piece that encapsulates the feeling of being a tiny cog in a huge world, of being alone in the elements, of bearing the weight of salvaging a decadent kingdom in disarray, and of being the chosen harbinger of destiny... all at once! Then when the ending of the trailer hit with the iconic shot of the Master Sword recreated, just enshrined for hundreds of years in peaceful solitude waiting for its part to play in destiny - MAN. I'm getting chills again just *thinking* about how incredible that reveal was.

Is Kondo doing the OST for this? Whoever it is is a musical genius - this theme alone is better than the entirety of the SS soundtrack, and the trailer alone was better than the entirety of SS as a game.

I can't throw enough love at it - the song is everything that's right with the world. It feels SO GOOD having hype for a Zelda game that isn't based solely on the cache of goodwill the franchise has built up over the years, but rather on an actual foundation of knowing what the game is and why it's worth getting excited over.

No, imagine the vertical bit is the head and torso of a four-legged beast looking up. That's what I see, anyway, but that front protruding part makes it look funny.

that's his mouth, kind of like this

No, it's a mouth. The tusks are visible at the front of the upper jaw, and you can see the huge gaping maw open wide. The entire thing is like the front of Pig Ganon's head just trailing off into cloud.

I though of Fate stay Zero because of Berserker riding a plane -.-'
I can't unseen it now, lol

Aaaahhhhh! NOW I see it!

I thought his head the upper jaw because it had horns or something like that.

Any mention of fishing in this game? I would love a fishing log book with tons of species to fish for.

No confirmation of a fishing rod, but you can kill fish in the water and then go pick up their dead bodies. They explicitly showed this with bombs and also mentioned you can use stuff like spears if your aim is good enough.

There are three timelines lol

Isn't he dead in all timelines?
He's dead by virtue of age in the WW line.
He's dead by virtue of being dead in the MM/TP line.
He's dead by virtue of being missing, and then being dead in the LttP line.

And I still want a Fierce Deity game where you delve into the backstory of that mask and the evil behind it. /shakefist

Given how incorporeal Calamity Ganon looks, I wonder if they'll go for an angle where it's become an entity separate from Ganon/dorf, with the latter existing as the old man who's either actually trying to fix his mistakes or just manipulating Link. I'm not sure if I want that - it's very cliche, but it would make his role here a little different. And make the white-haired Ganondorf from Smash Bros. and Hyrule Warriors canon, in a way...

Isn't he dead?

Hence the resurrection chamber.

Instead of that I'd rather he just became this weird entity after being immortal however long and/or banished to some other plane. Like if a theme in this game is decline or decay or the end of a timeline, then apply that to Ganon and this malevolent thing is what persists.

Well, WW Ganondorf isn't all that evil when all is said and done. He didn't kill Zelda or Link when he took their pieces of the Triforce, and all he wanted was to restore his kingdom. He's the most far removed from Ganon/Ganondorf of the other timelines.

You could go from that angle, sort of.

Hence the resurrection chamber.

Ya fair enough.

Ganon looks great. Pretty sure he's just supposed to be riding a horse there, though it might be some other critter. Makes him look like a cross between OoT and WW's Phantom Ganon really, although I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up having a pig snout in this. It'd only make sense, with all those Zelda 1 inspirations. We really haven't had a humanoid pig Ganon in a 3D zelda game, expect for his alternate OoT form I suppose.

But yeah, really great looking like I said. Very ominous and intimidating, especially at that size. I imagine you're going to be able to see him circling Hyrule Castle from quite a distance, which sounds really cool.
