honestly if this is your first stick any advantage between the two will purely be the placebo effect, sanwa and hayabusa are effectivity interchangeable and especially so for a newcomerIts like I'm going in reverse! Everyone wants hayabusas now and I'm just gonna switch em' out for sanwas, haha.
EDIT: I just received my focusattack order! I can't wait to get home from work and start the tinkering. I'll take a pic or two

Is that a new Fighting Edge? What's up with the extra 30mm buttons?

That makes sense.Maybe a left over prototype when Hori made a custom stick for Sako.

The extra buttons were used from plinking in SF4.
man i loved the MCZ SCV stick, really nice caseIt's my second stick.
I used my first stick for Soul Calibur V and Mortal Kombat 9.
A bit for street fighter 4, never too serious. My first stick is a Madcatz SCV TE stick with sanwa parts.
I'm still a noob though, this is the first time I'm modding a stick.
I wanted an octo gat mainly and took the chance to order buttons that looked cool and I liked, same with balltop.
They sell the Hayabusa buttons separately? Obviously I wouldn't want the stick (unless I got a 2lb spring to go with it).6x Hayabusa buttons and 1x Hayabusa stick for $43.28 shipped. not an amazing deal but happy to get my hands on the buttons and my VSHG could use the lever.

"obviously" lol. this is my second Hayabusa stick, the stock spring isn't unbearable. They sell the Hayabusa buttons separately? Obviously I wouldn't want the stick (unless I got a 2lb spring to go with it).

I said that I obviously wouldn't, not you. Everyone has their own preferences."obviously" lol. this is my second Hayabusa stick, the stock spring isn't unbearable.
I'm assuming that we'll get the red & blue buttons that we saw at E3.They'll be restocking them with more colors in a few weeks most likely.

It just felt far too loose for my liking.obviously
It just felt far too loose for my liking.
My gut reaction is leaning towards yes, but I need to use them side-by-side to be 110% sure. It just felt a bit weird to me. Though I got to try out the stick that belonged to another friend of mine, which had a 2lb spring installed (after I was told about it on GAF). It actually felt really damn good. It's looser than the sanwa?
The Hayabusa uses many parts which seem to be carbon copies of JLF parts, spring included, which is why people who replace the Hayabusa spring use Seimitsu springs insteadIt's looser than the sanwa?
Then why does it feel looser (this is an genuine question)? The Hayabusa uses many parts which seem to be carbon copies of JLF parts, spring included, which is why people who replace the Hayabusa spring use Seimitsu springs instead
maybe the base? Then why does it feel looser (this is an genuine question)?
If I recall, Hori hyped up the housing as being less prone to wear-&-tear.maybe the base?
JLF vs Hayabusa.

Perhaps, though I'll need to get a Hayabusa of my own to be sure.it could simply be you're transitioning from an old lever which may need some TLC to one which hasn't been broken in yet.

Hori: ¯l_(ツThe wear and tear bit confuses me. More contact = less friction at any given point.
I thought it was more about the Hayabusa having fewer points of contact. The wear and tear bit confuses me. More contact = less friction at any given point.

Is it a thing? I was a huge fan of the Eightarc Onyx (which I'm heavily considering modding a Brook 5-in-1 PCB for).Y'all hear about a new PS4 + PS3 Qanba?
Oh, they've gone legit, now.Just what i saw on twitter via hibachifinal

whats the difference between the TES2 Plus and the TES+?
TES+ is 330$ after tax
TES2 Plus is 365$ after tax
Then there's also the HRAP 4 Kai Hayabusa i'm interested in, which will come in at around 260-270 $ after tax
Which one do you guys think is worth it? I'm getting my CC this week, so I gotta decide now

The TE2+ is easier to mod & has a detachable USB cord, while the TES+ is basically the original TES made for the PS4 (though if you ask me, the TES+ has a more solid feel to it). You can go with either one. But if you don't mind unscrewing the stick to do your mods, I'd go for the TES+ (it's the overall better deal).
get the HRAP
I'd honestly go for the TES+ in that case. If the shipping costs are gonna add up like that for the HRAP, then yeah.ayy, choice is already getting hard lol
also, I think it's important to say this will be my first stick, so I want to use it for the longest time possible too ( because damn, these babies are expensive)
If only canada had the new HRAP model with hayabusa buttons, it would be wayyy cheaper for me to just buy it. But it doesn't so I gotta ship it from the US :/

But most of the issues I've been seeing here are with the TE2+.The Mad Catz sticks seem to have more problems than the Hori sticks, so consider if you want to deal with potential issues.

Ah, almost forgot. Thanks for the heads-up.I thought we talked about this before? There has been at least one complaint in this thread about the S+ specifically, but the difference in the number of complaints is likely due to the fact that the TE2+ is probably more popular. I'd still consider it a risk.

what were this issues with the TES+?
I knew the TES2 had issues with the glass that covers it or something? same thing here?
its a 30-40$ difference basically
Its not THAT much, because at this point the HRAP is still cheaper anyways
choosing is so hard :/

I'm using the older HRAP and have had some time with the Madcatz products and the new HRAP. I can list some things I know about it if it helps you out.
- The Hayabusa lever is just better than the Sanwas. They also seem to be able to handle wear better. This is anecdotal but my launch day Hayabusa feels like the day it came out the box while all my Sanwas get looser and clickier after a while. If nothing else it is better for your wrist. Some people are used to Sanwas but it only takes a few hours to adjust. In your case, being a first stick this is a non issue.
- Hayabusa buttons are on par with the Sanwas. However, I can't stand standard buttons and always go for silent sanwa buttons anyway.
- Kuro buttons from the old stick are awkward. They are stiff and flat which for me means that I am more likely to press the wrong buttons. They are also raised higher which slows down my reactions. I wouldn't recommend those.
- The old HRAP doesn't work on SF5 on PC without an outside program that probably introduces more latency (?). The new one works out the box
- The old HRAP has slightly more delay apparently and the PS3 mode has variable delay which is no good. I am a scrub so it doesn't make a huge difference for me personally.
- HRAP sticks feel better in your lap and to use than Madcatz and are more reliable. Forget the crap about accessibility to mod. You only do that every once in a while surely you have the time to loosen a few screws.
All in all I feel like it's worth importing the new HRAP over all the other options. I have 4 sticks and my main one is the older HRAP 4 Kai with silent sanwas and I couldn't be happier. The new revision is even better than that.
People have reported hardware issues, like randomly unresponsive buttons or disconnects. Like Neoxon said though, most complaints have been for the TE2+, but the S+ has also had some similar complaints so I'd wager it's a problem with the parts Mad Catz has been using. I'm personally in the process of getting a replacement TE2+ from Mad Catz because of the above mentioned issues. The stick is great when it works and Mad Catz support has been pretty helpful, but the issues are worth keeping in mind before buying one.
There have also been a few instances of pros (Mainly Tokido I think) MCZ sticks malfunctioning during tournaments recently.
Just don't buy new MadCrapz products, that's how you solve the problem.
Or buy them if you feel a burning desire to replace the parts on your new stick out of your own pocket or paying to ship your stick to their customer service while it still exists.
If you want a current gen stick either buy a Hori or buy an older stick and put a Brook board in it. That's just the way it is now.
In that case, I'd give the Hayabusa stick a fair shake for at least a few weeks. If you don't like it, you can always swap it out for a Sanwa JLF. But at the end of the day, it all comes down to preference.alright guys, thanks for the tips, i'm settling for the HRAP!

Speaking of Hayabusa, is there an ETA on when the buttons will be back in stock? I was hoping to give them an extended test-run.
The JLF is usually around $20-30 depending on where you look. Based on my limited experience, the Hayabusa stick isn't exactly good for games like Third Strike (I noticed that it went a bit crazy going back to neutral). You could fix this with a tighter spring, but that depends on your preference.I'll get used to it probably, it's not like I had an old stick that I got used to before that one
And it looks like customizing sticks isn't THAT expensive ( and is easy to do) so that's great in case I really hate it for some reason
