Stripping away the racists and Little englanders...there are a bunch of libertarians and businessman who would benefit enormously from a depressed currency and removal of workers rights. Further to that you have several media proprietors who would see their influence grow and for them it's a power game.

The rest of the corporate world would certainly want some of those things but they are not interested in destroying the economy, which they recognise as a fact, in the short to medium term to realise those.

The same people benefit from large numbers of cheap workers though.

A depressed currency benefits some and not others. Our exports are cheaper for a start. Having a strong currency puts our exporters under pressure from foreign importers.

People are talking about the Tories imploding, but I think Labour are going to as well. I keep getting ads everywhere I go right now for Labour Leave and all it has is a picture of Osbourne and Cameron and it says "Wipe the smile from their faces".... What, and put one on Farage and Johnson?

Fuck.

That.

Next general election is going to be sooooo freaking interesting.

United States of Europe is a bad thing?

I'm so out of touch

One bit of irony to this is that I do recall Boris Johnson himself actually stating that if there was anything to champion about staying in the EU, it was this.

But the concept doesn't sit well with the Britain #1 crowd.

The take back control thing has been trained into them with little chocolate treats I think. Every time they say it, the look around like someone is about to toss them some food.

I think labour will secretly be happy it's over with, it was getting more and more difficult to deal with.

Because that's the case. To think otherwise is to expose a total lack of understanding of current affairs.

It's staggering what some people are willing to believe.

There are negotiations happening now. Why was my question if it's so definitive?

Cameron refusing to say he will veto rings alarm bells, he clearly knows something.

Turkey is still classed as a friend, member of NATO etc. It would be a diplomatic error to talk about a veto like that.

Do you think the current geopolitical situation is so black and white that the Prime Minister can go on TV and outright say he would veto? Doing so would reduce the bargaining position in discussions with Turkey over dealing with the crisis in Syria - discussions happening with the EU and the US.

It's nothing we haven't heard for the past few months, both sides are like stuck records.

At least they are all fully equipped with previous quotes of each other. That's a little bit amusing.

Yeah, the rebuttals are the only interesting thing really. Every thing else is on script.

Take back control
Take back control
Take back control
Take back control
Take back control
Take back control
Take back control

The turks don't watch UK TV I guess. Good job, they might find out the truth.

Ruth Davidson is the MVP for Remain.

Yeah, Sadiq isn't bad but the TUC woman isn't effective at all.

Is a cabinet position better than leader of the Scottish Tories? Because whichever is the better position, I think Ruth Davidson has probably earned a pormotion or solidified her position.

PM with a devolved English house and cabinet. Sorted.

Ruth is on fire

For Remain: Ruth Davidson > Sadiq Khan (seems too combative) > Frances O’Grady (why is she here)

For Leave: Andrea Leadsom > Boris Johnson (rambling answers) > Gisela Stuart (why is she here..)
