Vote Leave plane just flew near Trafalgar Sq, as Jo Cox memorial takes place.
A reminder that politics hasn't stopped, on the eve of #euref

Doubt it was deliberate, but common sense needed

Really? It's flown over Trafalgar Square three times...

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but not even Trumps' nomination has had someone murdered yet. I absolutely cannot ignore the fascist and facial rhetoric from the Leave campaign. One of the more popular YouTube videos is explicitly tilted: "Leave EU to stop Muslim invasion."

I'm not even for organised religion, but I it would be hard to stand in a crowd of people supporting an idea and not take notice. Leave is really got at not pointing fingers at themselves, which is insane considering even the GOP would call Trump racist.

I've been following this debate semi-closely and I just don't see ignorant support Remain. Not to say all Leave campaigners are idiots or racist, I am sure it's just the loudest that are, but there is no comparison. At least I haven't seen it yet.

Was reading about Brexit and if I understand correctly, the older generation tends to lean exit while the younger generation leans remain? If that is the case, y'all exiting. We all know young people don't vote but old people do.

Reading the Leave material, I can say the exact same thing: so many insults towards EU and non-EU immigrants, so much anger and racism.
Honestly: I am almost 40 years old and I've never seen an election with such tones, claims and horrible horrible act of racism and xenophobia.

almost 40 here to, and I concur it's a shit show.

Brb, my Mom wants to vote Leave.

I am doing what I can.

I think we should be out so all countries get their sovereignty back.

Everyone has their own theories on this referendum man...

The last poll should an intention of 10/10 for both sides to vote, but crucially for remain, those between 18-24 were at 34% from 24%, that is a 10% increase

This is insane - I know it's a massive thing, but every add on every website is about it. Every ad on Facebook - I had 3 in a row earlier for Remain. Every radio station, news bulletin. All that anyone is talking about. I've never known anything like it. There'd better be a huge turnout tomorrow.

Then this just happened in the bloody ad break on TV: https://youtu.be/rQv_aTx67Ew

It's going to be so weird tomorrow in the voting period where they're not allowed to talk about it.

I see figureheads leading the remain side and the facts they are making up as they go along. No side is ideal here, both side are shit bags and they are both lying through their teeth to get you to vote how they want you to vote.

Both sides are shit bags but IMO Remain has marginally more facts and figures on their side. Enough to sway me.

Oh come on you know it's true!

I certainly don't!

Depends what you define as 'young'! All my close friends are <26 and we all work full time, up at 7am, etc

Polling stations are open 'til 10pm these days, what year are you living in

From Oxford's Prof @StephenDFisher . The top 10 local authority areas identified for REMAIN

top 10 local authority areas identified for LEAVE...I live near Boston and it has been reported many times that the town has completely changed due to immigration, if anyone wants a read I will dig out the report, so I can believe it is number 1

How dare they fly an advertisement plane and banner over central London the day before the biggest referendum in our Nations history.

Those scum.

After the Tory councillor donating the Steam off his piss to her charity, people are suspicious.

Aircraft with banners, buses, vans with signs etc have been everywhere today, I live in a fairly small West Mids town and every 10 minutes something has been flying over. Probably unrelated to the memorial and just some people not being careful enough in their rush to last minute sway voters.

our politics is becoming more and more American with TV debates and a drive to create personalities over policy. I hate it. I hate everything about it.

I just want this to be over so people shut up about immigrants and Brussels one way or the other.

I'm all for staying but how on earth can we manage so many people coming in each year?

Is there a solution to that?

If the EU would even give us a slight bit of margin so that the government can get on with building some houses and stuff for those already here instead of playing catch up, ALOT of the people voting leave would probably be tempted to say alright lets give it ago for a while. Sadly the EU wont budge and if we shut out outside EU immigration you can fully expect a human rights shit storm or something along those lines from residents of those countries.

That's a pretty low bar for liking someone

Eh, they have their convictions and I think they genuinely want what's best for the UK. I don't agree with them but - especially Hannan - it's been something he's been passionate about for a long time and he's able to eloquently put forward his point. I try to avoid disliking someone for their views, and there are far worse traits to have in a politician than conviction.

That happens to coincide with a memorial for a murdered MP who was campaigning to remain?

Couldn't have done it this morning? Or during the commute on the way home?

It was an aeroplane, though. It's not like it was a drone hovering 10ft above the service. That plane was probably over Camden one minute then South Bank the next. To say the plane was over "Trafalgar Square" is like saying the ISS is over England. I mean yeah, it is, sometimes. It's also over Equatorial Guinea, Japan and Canada, depending on when you check.

The same thing we need to do to cope with the increase in population due to birth and increased life expectancy; you invest in infrastructure. Since immigrants put more back in than they take out, it's a bit of a no-brainer. Unfortunately, the current and previous government don't seem to agree with this bit of ideology.

and Brussels one way or the other.

This will literally never happen. I've read stuff from the 17th century here in the Netherlands with people moaning about Danes and Norwegians coming here and taking jobs, and being a nuisance (to put it politely). You're going to be hearing complaints about immigration your entire life. It'll be more common during some periods and less common during others, but it's never going to stop.

trying to get my sister to give me an indication of voting leave or remain, she wont say, but believes the vote is fixed and we will remain anyway.

so does that mean she wont vote??

The rest of your lifetime is going to be rough for you. The current tensions in Europe are emblematic of the forces that are going to be shaping the rest of this century.

This is a conversation you'll have to get comfortable with.

If she really thinks the vote is fixed she needs to grab a pitchfork and march on Westminster.

A solution to what? If we want to cope with the influx of migrants, then the government just needs to invest more in housing, infrastructure and public services to cope with rises in population. That might mean borrowing money though, so it won't happen under Osborne.

Remain or Leave, this is correct
