Steam Summer Sale 2016 |OT| It's better than nothing

Bah, only 50% on Wolfenstein, would have grabbed it at 75%. Tomb Raider and Doom just out of my budget too (being unemployed during a Steam sale is torture), not the best sale for me, nothing on my list over 50% off.

Oy....this is the worst I've ever seen. Usually technical issues are cleared up well before an hour passes.

Also, I miss the metas....so much. The team color game was super interesting.

Hyper Light Drifter is, by all accounts, an amazing "Zelda-like"

Salt & Sanctuary is a good but not great 2d Dark Souls clone with some pacing/difficulty spike problems. If you adore Souls, it's a good purchase.

Fuck, Hyper Light Drifter is like Zelda??
Loosely eyed this game since it's announcement, but never knew this.

If anyone is looking for the best game on steam make sure to buy tabletop simulator and all the cosmic encounter dlc.

I've had my eye on Tabletop Simulator for a while. How does it work? Are there a variety of different board games available to play via Steam Workshop, or what? Or just purchasable DLC?

Meh I see nothing to get excited about, I mean DOOM looks a decent price but I can't help but feel it is going to drop a load anyway.

In terms of server-load/lag, this is the worst sale I can remember. Over an hour after it started, and I still can't access inventory and some store pages. Or my Discovery Queue.

Sniper 3 is also 80% off, base game seems like all you need DLCs don't seem that great for double the price.

Really disappointing sale as usual though, echo all the comments about how I much preferred flash sales and daily activities that made it fun. Remember all the red vs blue vs green wars or the crazy clicker mini games? The "sale is coming!!" videos are also sad to watch now, since they all feature 85-90% buttons but you see almost none of that anymore. Its mostly 15-20% sales, in many cases the price has been lower in the past for many of these games which never used to happen :(

Thinking of grabbing Payday and/or Payday 2.

Is it worth it to get GOTY for Payday 2? Or should I just get vanilla? Is any of the post GOTY dlc worth it?

Nah, it's always like this. Might be getting slightly worse due to millions of new active user growth.

Salt & Sanctuary.
:salty:

Hyper Light Drifter is the best Zelda game I've played in years.

Salt & Sanctuary is a pretty good approximation of 2D Dark Souls, with a weaker (imo) art style.

2:1

Hyper Light Drifter it is then!

Was leaning towards it since it isn't long since I played Dark Souls 3 and I'm not longing for some Souls gameplay at the moment. Thanks!

There is a TON of workshop games that operate in a gray area. Some get pulled down but a ton of them stay up and they are current board games but also old ones too. They have some paid dlc but not much. The workshop is where you'll find most of your fun. I highly recommend Cosmic though, it's great. Also if you buy the dlc only one person has to own it. So if you have friends you can buy a copy of something and play with them.

It also has a fun jigsaw puzzle mode where you can take any image on the internet and it cuts it up into a puzzle. It's awesome.

They are both action adventure games, but I wouldn't call them similar.

Hyper Light Drifter is great, though. Don't pass it up.

Payday 2 is like £3.50?

Is it a good game?
I had a lot more fun with the original Payday, Payday 2 made everything overly complex for no good reason and from what I hear the community has been around for so long now that they have little patience for new players just learning the game.

Yes it is. I believe they have also removed the microtransactions recently

Nice, yeah I read they binned the micro transactions, hence why it popped up on my radar.

Really? That's disappointing to hear.

Get Payday 2. Start with vanilla and see if you dig it. The dlc is mainly weapons and the like, and not missions/levels. Any time there's a sale Payday 2 dlc always has a crazy discount so don't feel pressured to get the GOTY/dlc now.

Managed to get through 3 queues but none of the cards show up in my inventory (I did get the pop up for them).

Hopefully they will show up one everything has calmed down.

Does anyone else want a sale on Beyond Good and Evil?

I ask because I'm about to cave and buy it, after waiting through 2 Summer Sales and corresponding Winter/Spring sales for a decent price.

As soon as I buy this game, it will be in a bundle or Ubi will give to away out of the kindness in their hearts as one last "FUCK YOU" to me.

Thanks for the info! I got into board games about a year ago, so this sounds great.
