Steam Summer Sale 2016 |OT| It's better than nothing

If Trails FC had hit even 66% off I probably would have picked it up, but them still holding out at 50% just seems silly at this point. Anyone who wanted it at that price point has had like 5 opportunities already.

Team Fortress 2 is getting Disgaea PC items:

Anyone who picks the game on the summer sale will get them

Oh sweet! That's mighty nice of them. :D

I'm thinking of buying Far Cry 3, I haven't played an Ubi game in a long time because of Uplay.

Has Uplay gotten tolerable or even decent?

It's "tolerable" if you want to play Ubisoft titles, but I still wouldn't buy anything using it alone. Steam+Uplay may be a hassle, but it's better than going Uplay only.

Picked up:

Crypt of the NecroDancer - $3.74
Rise of Nations: Extended Edition - $3.99
Cities: Skylines - $11.99
DOOM - $35.99

I still have a huge backlog that includes Witcher 3 + Season Pass and Uncharted 4, so I'll probably be good till the next steam sale.

Guys, I've been hitting the Parodius series up hard this past week and I demand more shmups, any good ones on Steam apart from Jamestown (is the DLC worth it?) and Astebreed? No bullet hells, I think Parodius poses a serious challenge :lol.

Good haul, Necrodancer is amazing. Rise of Nations is amazing too, one of my favourite RTS games ever made, has an amazing OST as well. Cities is fantastic as well and while I only played the demo of DOOM, I consider it a great demo.

I added some more games to my wishlist, so now I'm up to 168 games on my wishlist. I might end up picking up a few more visual novels, possibly buy Trails in the Sky games, FFXIII/XIII-2 and most likely Danganronpa. The only problem is that with Tokyo Mirage Sessions, Star Ocean and Zero Time Dilemma coming out within the next week, my budget (and time) for the steam sale is definitely limited.

Dying Light page says it isn't "optimized or tested" for laptop GPUs. I have a 960m and an i7-CPU capable of 3.3 GHz during optimal load (Tboost something, I have no idea what that means). It can run Dark Souls 3 on acceptable settings.

Will my modest laptop run Dying Light? Price is pretty good.

Thanks for all the responses guys!

Here's my haul for now:

Far cry 3
Saints row 3
The old blood
Vanishing of Ethan carter
Max Payne 3
Bully
Crypt of the necrodancer

All for $35!

Not bad

So this is weird it saying complete the bundle on games that I had access to via family share.

Which I don't anymore but says its in my library -.-

Drifting lands seems promising.

Geometry wars 3 is pretty good too. Although kinda bullet hell

Anyone remember what that game was that came out kinda recently where you were shooting bullets? Kinda like Nuclear Throne? I can't for the life of me remember what it was called...

It's probably referring to Intel's integrated graphics, which shares video RAM and would not be suitable for GPU-intensive games.

Try it out and get a refund if it runs like shit.

Here's someone playing it with what sounds like a similar laptop:

Looks kinda rough, 30ish FPS at his settings, so might need to lower to medium, he has it on mostly high.

IIRC they've done some optimizations since then too, so might be doable overall.

I can't believe it. I've been waiting for this sale for weeks just so I could buy and play mad max and it's not even fucking discounted.

Screw this.

I passed on the humble sales because I have steam wallet funds. Ugh

I got Doom. Quake 4 never gets good deals for these sales though.

I have a hard time getting into roguelikes. Necrodancer always looked neat, but that's how roguelikes always are for me. An interesting concept and then I quickly lose interest.

Saints row 3 or 4 for my first saints row game guys?

4 is superior, but there is no way you're going to be able to come back to 3 after playing 4.

So start with 3.

I'm with robotrock.

3 is an awesome game that does a great job of turning what was a GTA clone in to something unique. 4 expands on all the things 3 did but it still very much feels like a sequel. My vote is get 3 and play that first then come back for 4. Both are awesome.

They have a demo you could try.

Didn't think about refunds being a thing, thanks.

My CPU is a bit newer than this guy's (6700Q iirc), so I think I would be fine. Thanks, didn't realize you could just search on Youtube for games running on your exact specs!
