Pokémon Sun & Moon | Info and speculation thread

I like Greninja, but that fake Froakie evolution in the second image looks just sick and awesome.

It's just a bigger Frogadier. These fakemon creators have no idea how to make a legit looking 2nd level starter evo. For example, Litten's final form would most definitely won't be just a larger and more ferocious looking Litten. It might not even retain its black and red fur and quadrupedalism either.

Well, and Venusaur is just a bigger Ivysaur with a blooming flower and bigger warts. ^^
I like that fake evolution, it's a more in-line and animal-like evolution yet still looks good.

Pokemon (especially early gen ones like Venasaur) Don't stick to this hard and fast rule.

Modern final starter evos do look a lot more unique to compared to their starting forms tho. Just look at the reaction to Chestnaught, Delphox, and Greninja. They threw people off their expectations, won and lost hearts, and gaves the games even more attention than they already have.

Just imagine if Chestnaught looked like a bigger Chespin:

OT, but here's a gallery of people believing fakes and denying X&Y leaks months, weeks, and days before the launch. A gaffer is even feature on it too!

context is missing though

that leak came from pokebeach forums, which were shown with pics and such, but later had the person removed it from them after a long while and even stated they were fakes

don't forget the whole Digipen (I think? the debugging/testing company) fiasco

You mean days.

I remember the XY leaker got it from a small business in Canada and they like flew a Nintendo rep over there and took all their copies or something crazy

Pretty sure its not punishment. That doesnt seem like the best way to prevent leaks.
There were one or two leaks from Canada, but most leaks overall came from Europe. I don't care where your personal leaker was from and apparently Ninty doesn't either bc Canada isn't getting a delayed date and Europe is so

"My leaker" http://m.neogaf.com/showthread.php?t=688723

So your evidence for the EU delay being punishment for the leaks is that, Nintendo is delaying the game in Europe. And my evidence is invalid because it doesn't count because Nintendo only cares about the EU leaks, with the proof being that the game is delayed in EU.

Not buying it...lol

The litten evo reminds me of pictures that people take of their depressed looking pets dressed up.

Hahaha and the popplio evo they don't wanna be there

Yep. I mostly dislike fakes for how closely they stick to the starters designs without adding any new traits for their first and second evolutions.

I'd honestly still prefer that first one over what we got.

Even if Hoenn was when the final starter evolutions being drastically different to the base forms became more common, not even all of the earlier starters stick to the "it just gets bigger" thing. Wartortle to Blastoise is something no one would guess nowadays. Fanart would probably continue with the type of tail motif Squirtle/Wartortle have and would definitely missing the cannons.

Those 3 look a lot better than the chesnaught we got, tbh. Better design, better palette, etc.

I'm also surprised the one thing that wasn't leaked were Mega Evolutions, such a major gameplay element yet no mention of them directly (except for simply saying Mewtwo would have a second form like the one in the Genesect film, who hadn't been called a Mega) in any of those leaked lists that made their way to PokeBeach.

And that was before E3, note the date is May. That was legitimate leaked information.

Mega evolutions were leaked when the game was announced, but the leaker didn't know what was the difference between normal evolution and mega evolution. This leak wasn't widespread though, but I definitely heard that Blaziken, Lucario, Mewtwo and other old Pokémon were getting new evolutions.

Oh yeah I think when Hiro was teasing the Fairy-type he made a joke post---most of it seemed to be him trolling but I do think he mentioned a Lucario evolution that everyone considered proof he didn't know anything. Lol, I remember "Fairygate" being a big deal.

I wouldn't be surprised if we were and are meant to get some more mechanical, plotty info today, and the Japanese team decided to get out ahead of the Pokémon leaks early.

It's definitely strange that we only have official confirmation from Japan, and no further information about the newbies has been released apart from the trailer.

if anything I'll be glad to get more detailed info on these mons from the official website. Like what Vikavolt's abilities are and things like height and weight.

English trailer just dropped. Same stuff on the Japanese trailer but with some differences:

1. You get to hear the Trainer Battle theme much more clearly in this trialer. It's actually really good. The starting but sound like the Jurassic Park theme.

2. Abilities of all the Pokémon leaked yesterday.

3. Grubbin 100% confirmed to evolve into Charjabug

4. Official game art of all the Zygarde formes

komala.png

Komala has the Comatose Ability, a new Ability that no other Pokémon has ever had until now. This Ability keeps it perpetually in a drowsing state, which prevents it from getting any other status conditions.

Holy shit. I wonder if this means it's immune to all non-volatile status effects or that it can only use sleep talk and snore as moves.

charjabug.png

Charjabug has the Battery Ability, an Ability not seen before in any other Pokémon. The Battery Ability allows it to raise the power of allies’ special moves.

So like the offence version of Friend Guard?

drampa.png

Drampa can have the Berserk Ability, an Ability that no other Pokémon has ever had. With the Berserk Ability, this Pokémon’s Sp. Atk will go up by 1 when its HP drops below half.

Cool but sap sipper would probably be a more worthwhile ability to have.

bruxish.png

Bruxish can have the new Ability Dazzling, which no other Pokémon has ever had. The Dazzling Ability prevents opponents from using priority moves that normally strike first.

Gamechanger. I hope this Pokemon has decent base stats or evolves into something with decent base stats. That ability should not be wasted.
