Fallout 4's Nuka-World DLC Is the Last One, Bethesda Says

Bethesda marketing executive Pete Hines has confirmed that August's Nuka-World expansion is the "last one," and fans should not expect any more.

Fallout 4's DLC so far has included Automatron (March 2016), Wasteland Workshop (April 2016), Far Harbor (May 2016), and Contraptions Workshop (June 2016). All of that, as well as Vault-Tec Workshop and Nuka-World, is included with the $50 Fallout 4 DLC Pass.

This was originally offered for $30, at which time it only included the first three add-ons. However. Bethesda later expanded its DLC plans and raised the price, though people who bought the pass for $35 were not asked to pay more.

People payed $50 for the season pass. :lol

I don't want to upset anyone but if anyone buys season passes (these aren't preorders either folks) you either need to know what your buying or your a fool. Fools gold literally.

Bethesda price rise oh the face of it was not very nice. But there's a reason some people keep getting burned by these things and other people look on bemused.

Well, that's not much content. Hmmm.

I guess I'll never understand the point of season passes for the consumer.

Wouldn't you want to see what the DLC is before you buy it?

Wow, that's awful. Glad I passed on the season pass. I was expecting at least one or two more Far Harbor-sized expansions for the $50 price.

Especially with Bethesda games, it pays to wait until (most) bugs are fixed.

The argument is that you're paying less than if you would have bought everything separately.

But of course you're taking a risk because the DLC might not actually be good.

It's much cheaper to just wait for the GOTY version but gamers are so impatient nowadays.

Man my opinion of Bethesda just gets lower and lower.

I guess I really can't complain as I essentially got the game and season pass for 30 from best buy.

But still.

WHEN mods come out, if they ever do, for ps4 maybe the game will get the breath of life it needs.

They should have been straight up to begin with. I don't think many were expecting that 4 of the DLCs were just workshop DLCs and not story ones.

Wow...And to think The Witcher 3 season pass was 30 bucks.

Isn't that only $25? Which makes this even more insulting.

Not mad that I spent $24 on this, but I'm not happy about it either.

People who bought the season pass have absolutely no room to complain.

They announced the FIFTY DOLLAR season pass with *No DLC* planned. All they said is "we don't know what we're making, but trust us it'll be worth it."

If you bought that then you have nobody to blame but yourself.

Ok, this situation is bullshit but don't spread lies.

Oh yes, you're right.

Wow. Two great expansions that add 30+ hours to the game for half the price. Lol Bethesda.

Very glad I got the pass for ~$24 way back when. That still seems like the right price for the content on offer.

I enjoyed the story DLC so far, but all those workshop packs just aren't for me. I just don't see the appeal in creating things in that buggy engine, especially on consoles. I'm glad I bought the pass at the old price; otherwise I'd be pissed.

Did Bethesda ever offer a reason as to why the Vault-Tec Workshop DLC isn't included? The quote in the OP says otherwise, but Bethesda removed it from the Season Pass sub on Steam three weeks ago now.

Edit: It's definitely not included.

Something about Beth literally making Fallout a theme park is hilarious to me.

I said somewhere that I thought Walt Disney World could make a fantastic fully-fledged Fallout location.

Edit:

I'd quite like one set in a theme park. That is, set in the *entirety* of a theme park; not just the tourist areas, but also the behind-the-scenes workings.

Walt Disney World (or something based on it) could be excellent for that sort of thing: Not only do you have multiple theme parks, you have the hotels, a large sports area, forested regions, shopping areas.

Just as I was thinking that, another thought hit me: A Fallout could be fantastic in such a region. The Cult Of The Three Circles around the Magic Kingdom? Deathclaws lurking in the forests of Fort Wilderness? Ragtag bunches of survivors in Pleasure Island? Insane scientists who believe that Blizzard Beach is a naturally-occurring phenomenon and strive to mimic it?

To buy all DLC's at once and sometimes with a discount.

I think Season passes are great, you don't have to buy them, you can always wait until all the DLC is out. Most season passes aren't worth it but the concept behind a SP is really good imo

What wasted opportunity making workshop DLCs that mods could have solved.

Shame after the stellar DLC support for the previous Fallouts.

Wait. Did they announce they were going to raise the price because of additional content just to generate hype then?

Not trying to tinfoil hat anything here, but this doesn't seem like anything changed (unlike something like Dying Light). If so, kudos on the trick. I fell for it.

The DLC offerings in Fallout 3 were better, that game had some amazing DLC!

I got the Season Pass for £20 so it was well worth the price for me.

Nah, they announced the 30$ pass without telling anything at all. We got some vague info with the 50$ hike. Still fucking stupid.

So is it fair to assume that FO4 did a lot worse than many would imagine or are they simply moving on to other things? Seems a short period of time has passed to announce the last of any potential DLC. They seem to be abandoning ship unless this was always the plan from the start.

Disappointed. Especially when compared to NV DLC. Had I known this would happen, I would've just bought Far Harbor and Nuka World.

I assume support is shifting to the Skyrim remaster and whatever else they have in the pipeline.

Glad I got the pass before it went up because that much content is worth £20 .. it is NOT worth more. Bethesda passes are usually a mixed bag, some of the content is awesome, others .. meh.

The Season Pass was originally slated to just have three DLC releases. That number has increased to five, but I have a bridge to sell anyone who doesn't believe that Far Harbor and Nuka-World -- the two pieces of DLC you could label expansions -- were planned from the start. Basically, Bethesda later decided that the price was too low and threw in a couple of smaller DLC releases in order to increase the value proposition. "Five pieces of DLC for $50" seems like good value on the face of it.

Pretty sure 4 sold gangbusters.

Uhhh. What are people mad about exactly? The Mechanist was fun, Far Harbor was awesome, Nuka World looks to be the size of Far Harbor or bigger. Seems worth it to me.

Of course they were. They likely planned to have those three story DLCs for the "season pass" (Mechanist, Far Harbor, Nuka World) and decided they could hike both Far Harbor and Nuka World up in price an extra $5 each and release filler crappy workshop content to "justify" the difference. Sad and disappointing really. If it was Mechanist (which was crap), Far Harbor and Nuka World for the original $30 I can at least justify that...but an extra $30 for workshop content is stupid, especially after coming off of the amazing content of New Vegas, and to a lesser extent, Fallout 3.
