Pokémon Go is live on the Google Play Store

It's because it's not technically been released in the US. It would seem they're doing staggered releases and that you won't be able to download it from the Google Play store until they decide that you can.

We've heard that it's supposed to be available in the US sometime today, but that's not for certain as Niantic is dead quiet.

Is anyone else getting "GPS signal not found" or is that just me? My GPS is on.

Ooh I see I was actually avoiding capturing duplicates lol but what about the starters? Can you even find those in the wild?
 
Nintendo going mobile is the smartest thing they've done on the last 6 years. LOT'S of people on Twitter are downloading Pokemon Go and even some of then are like "Didn't know Pokemon was still a thing" or "I haven't heard of Pokemon in forever" So not only this is getting lot's of buzz but also is making random people who are not into gaming turning their heads to check out Nintendo apps. There was some dude on twitter saying: "Nintendo still exists!??" So yeah. They need to hurry the hell up and release more of their IPs on smartphones so the buzz can continue.

The person saying "Nintendo still exists!??" Is more of an incredibly uninformed person rather than a problem for Nintendo themselves, but yeah. Wondering if Pokemon still exists is about as bad. It's not like the games don't sell, really...
 
Buddy at work downloaded this on his Android phone today and was capturing Pokemon as we walked to, had lunch in and walked back from the park. Whatever doubts I had were erased, I need to catch 'em all.
 
So who do you think will make the real Pokémon - ish game with fights, push notifications and stuff? This is just the beginning, but whoever does it wins forever. Nintendont obviously.

Do you mean clones? Because the App Store has plenty. And no, Nintendo will never make an actually mobile Pokémon as it will cannibalize sales.
 
I wonder how long it would take to populate a new landmark in Ingress and have it populate in Pokemon Go.

There's a portopotty that I want to turn into a Gym.

The next iteration of this. But at the same time people very much still want the traditional handheld experience so I don't know if we'll see a true mobile Pokemon experience like the handhelds.

A Pokémon Go! Clone? I don't think there are. And I'm talking about the one who refines the formula. Go is interesting but yeah Nintendo will never make it a full game (foolishly so, it would sustain them forever).
 
We don't need a full Poke game. We just need tweaks to this.

So like in a year add in more Poke to catch. Add in some form of trading system. Add in PvP battles. Unlock more raids. Shit like that.

More Pokemon are a given, trading is confirmed, PvP would be awesome and Raids I think are in? At least that's what was hinted at with the MewTwo fight.

Haven't been able to get on since after lunch. Frequently getting 'failed to detect location' even after logging in and it knowing I'm at my house. Can't even log in at this point. Might be blocking based on location.

Wait, so it doesn't have any of that? That intial trailer made it seem like it's have trading, PvP, all that.
