Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 reviews and benchmarks

There are about 10 EVGA 1080 SC's at my local Micro-scam-center. They are charging $799 for it. I was laughing in their face when they told me "supply and demand" BS.

NCIX just told me about a week for the Gigabyte G1...

Apparently Palit/Gainward are sadly not available in the US.
It's Ok, Newegg just put up ftws, and I got one.I'm done looking around until the TI comes out.Hurry up to Newegg if anyone wants one.

Edit-No dice, they sent me an email saying they canceled my order. :(

Newegg put up some FTWs for pre-order earlier today, so I nabbed one. Ships in 5-7 days according to the site. At least I got the order in, so I can stop staring at Now In Stock's site for hours a day.

I hope the pound recovers a bit before August when I'm going to be ready to get a 1080. The prices for them here in the UK are ridiculous. They've all gone up by £60 or so these last couple of weeks.

And I don't know what the fuck has happened to the stock for Amazon UK, I don't think they've had ANY 1080s in stock since the bloody things launched ffs.

Is it just the pound dropping like a stone or have the prices in the US also gone up during the last few weeks..?

Finally received my msi 1080 gaming x. Was getting 60-80fps before with my GTX 670 4gb 2x sli with mostly maxed settings in GTA5. Now have every setting possible maxed and hitting 70-100fps. Max temp 67° and low noise with no coil whine at all. Whew!

Also no more stuttering on Oculus Rift.

Thanks, all the reviews mention it but no one seems to be using the feature, appreciate the feedback. Still waiting for my card, I'm starting to have doubts about it, I mean there were rumors that they had issues with this card and now a new Strix is coming without the OC. EVGA and Gainward had several cards up on online stores yesterday and today and Asus still hasn't delivered squat...

Ok cool. I have the same case as you with about the same config so was wondering.

The cooling on the Strix is incredible. I don't know how it stacks up to the Gigabyte Xtreme, but as far as the EVGA SC I had, there's no competition. Other than that, performance is purely silicon lottery. My card is failing and crashing at the factory OC. I had to scale the power target down to 106 to get it to be stable, although it is still crashing in benchmarks. The good thing about buying the OC card is that I had a legitimate excuse to return it to Amazon. I'm much happier with this purchase than I was with the EVGA, and will happily exchange it when Amazon gets some in stock again.

Heads up for Australians but overclockers.co.uk have the Palit GTX1080 Jetstream in stock. Since the GBP has tanked so hard, it's roughly $910 AUD shipped. Even if your card charges for international purchases, it's still very cheap for a top tier card.

As far as I can tell, that price is better than US and Canadian stores and way better than local prices.

Looks like my order will ship out tomorrow to arrive on Monday!

My once stable OC of +75 core and +250 Memory is no longer stable at all.(Ive been running this OC for close to 3 weeks now) I crashed in Overwatch today and after dropping the Memory down a bit to 225 I crashed again....Im now just using it with stock settings again :(

I really got a bottom of the barrel card in this lottery

What card do you have?

I just checked the availability of the cards in my country because I was curious

The Gigabyte G1 is $947.31
The Asus Strix is $999.12

Hilarious.

I don't want to buy any video card from Newegg because they have the "Replacement Only Return Policy" as their only option if something goes wrong, whereas with Amazon, you can return it for a full refund within 30 days of purchase (sometimes more if you make your case well with live chat support).

I've put in a order for the Gainward Phoenix, basically same clocks as a founders just with their heatsink and fans, and while I intend to push the OC I guarantee I'll luck out too. GPU OCs and me don't mix.

If CPL suddenly have stock issues I might ask for a refund or something.

That's what I thought too, until I found the extra special graphics settings menu lol :D

Same experience for rift coming from 780's, SLI is dead to me after that experience. Loving the 1080.

Was able to pick up a new PSU today and thankfully my system isn't fried.

Will post full impressions in the coming days.

Does anyone know if you can turn off the RGB cycle of the Gigabyte g1 without having to use their OC software? With the 980ti it defaulted to white was less obnoxious than constant cycling.

Can someone explain to me what is the benefits of a card coming with 3 fans? if the card is hot, isn't the fan just blowing hot air ?

I just grabbed an Arctic Cooling Accelero Xtreme IV for my Titan X.

It has 3 fans.

They make all the difference.

They are blowing the dissipated heat in larger quanitities / volume away from the heatsink as well as cooling the heat sink down with cool air being pushed over the fins. More / larger fans rather than a higher RPM smaller fan will be generally cooler and quieter if you have a nice airflow in your case.

Doesn't one 1080 from Inno Chill has 4 fans on it?

In any case still nothing for this week when it comes to the Asus Strix. Some resellers have it but they are trying to jerk people over selling the card at 869€ or more, I got it for 739€.

I was watching a vid of Paul's hardware where he was speculating the Titan P might be the only Pascal card to have HBM2. What do you guys think? Would it put a fork in the Ti model for you?
