Pokémon Go is live on the Google Play Store

Happened to me too but when I restarted it was in my pokemons

Yeah I restarted but it's shown as seen.....:(. Hope they iron it out soon.

It works really well here in NYC. A lot of street art you wouldn't even notice popping up as pokestops, with unique names. Like "Serpent" on Clinton St, it's a snake painting sprawled across a building.

Williamsburg bridge and other monuments popping up too.

Caught a few Pokemon, but the app would freeze after most of them. The screen zooms in and it just stays there. Thankfully when you close and reopen the app you still get that Pokemon.

Would be even better if you could use your Pokemon to fight other Pokemon instead of flicking a ball to catch them. I must've looked like an idiot stopping mid-stride, then swiping up on my phone and smiling a few seconds later. Plus, it's fucking hot as shit right now, and most of these Pokemon are like a quarter mile apart

Cool game though. Needs more features though

I was out on a walk with my friend to see what we could find and near the end of our walk, the game started to constantly freeze on me (not my friend though) and I lost multiple Pokemon and an incense trying to get a Pidgeot. :(

Been trying to sign in since i was kicked out after 3pm est. Still having this authentication issue. Was the APK "device banning" thing actually a thing or just scare tactics?

There is a park nearby and there was a lot of shaking grass. I walk over shaking grass but nothing happens, how do I make them work? Does clicking them do something?

The servers are down in my area (Brisbane) LOL

I think they finally realized they need to shut it down. The connection bug when trying to catch a pokemon was horrible and a bit obnoxious. Hopefully they can spin up some new servers quickly and get this sorted out. If not, ah well, it'll iron itself out soon enough.

People just being paranoid.

Yeah I'm one of those people and Nintendo should really increase their server capacity because Trainer Club/My Nintendo log in now encompass My Nintendo,Pokemon Trading Card Game Online,The Pokemon website,Nintendo Network and Pokemon Go and this whole thing knocked out all of those services and I can't log in on any of them.

Go |OT|ta catch 'em

Yeah, but an indication of which direction to travel would be useful. I passed several locations I would have expected to count as stops and found nothing worthwhile.

Ingress has a Google Maps-based Intel page where you had a detailed zoom able map, but you could only use it on a computer. Maybe expect something like that?

The game froze and then crashed on me while I was trying to catch a Psyduck. Now when I try to open it again, I get a "failed to get player information" message. Hooray.

(Australian here.)

I'm still stuck in the main menu, but jesus christ I really hope there are more customization options for your trainer.

Choosing between douchey hair/hoodie/pants/hat color options isn't exactly thrilling

So many articles talk about the gym mechanics but never really explain them. Do you lose the Pokemon after depositing it to the gym? Can you get it back? Will I keep getting rewards for it even if I'm nowhere near the gym?

Yeah, having freezing issues while catching pokemon. Managed to snag Bulbasaur and Squirtle in the wild along with an Eevee so pretty happy. Eevee and Bulbasaur catches were frozen after the ball caught them and didn't do the blink animation so I had to close and restart. Checked my pokemon and had them so dunno, hope they fix these issues along with how much it sucks up battery life.

Even when my phone's being charged, the game does that auto-dim, then screen-off thing. I tried turning off the battery saver option in-game, and that didn't fix it. I swear most other games I have on my phone keep the screen on unless I turn it off manually.

I know something like Google Maps doesn't auto-dim.

I'd imagined I'd just be able to have my phone in my pocket or something while going for a jog or a walk, and it would just vibrate to notify me a Pokemon's nearby, so I could just stop, catch it, and continue. But this sounds like I actively need my phone out in order to prevent the screen from auto-dimming and turning the game off.

Not even remotely intuitive.

Edit: I don't understand the bonuses for ball throws. I thought someone mentioned a Nice Throw and a Curve Throw could be combined to be 60xp or something, but most of the time the game doesn't recognize curve throws, and just now I only got 10xp for a nice throw.

That's basically the selling point of the Go Plus accessory.

Flashes and vibrates when a pokemon is nearby. Press the button to throw a ball at it.

Also it auto picks up the items from pokespots.

I can't see anything but some friends have captured dozens of pokemons already.

By the way this is awesome:

It says that butterfree is not in danger, but in the amazon 302 species of butterflies are.

That may have been fake, but someone will die playing this game.
Probably be some 8 year old kid crossing a highway trying to catch something.

I thought the main issue was that the game doesn't run in the background though, so even with this accessory, how will the game know my location if it turns off that function as soon as the screen dims?

I just downloaded it and checked out the map around me. I live right next to a park so I'm lucky enough to have a gym 100ft from my house. There's another gym right by where the pool for the community is. There are about half a dozen pokestops in and around the park from all the plaques. I didn't come across any pokemon, so I haven't been able to lvl up or anything :(

The Go Plus uses Bluetooth and is still probably linked to your device's GPS methinks.
