Pokémon Sun & Moon | Info and speculation thread

It's just a bigger Frogadier. These fakemon creators have no idea how to make a legit looking 2nd level starter evo. For example, Litten's final form would most definitely won't be just a larger and more ferocious looking Litten. It might not even retain its black and red fur and quadrupedalism either.

Pokemon (especially early gen ones like Venasaur) Don't stick to this hard and fast rule.

Modern final starter evos do look a lot more unique to compared to their starting forms tho. Just look at the reaction to Chestnaught, Delphox, and Greninja. They threw people off their expectations, won and lost hearts, and gaves the games even more attention than they already have.

Just imagine if Chestnaught looked like a bigger Chespin:

Ugh, these are all so tryhard....

I like most starter final Evo designs. I like how game freak doesn't try to make every mon look like "ow the edge". Lots of cuteness, weirdness, and charming final forms that have better design than all the hardcore looking shit like these. Reminds me of digimon, ugh.

Apparently there's some thing going around that Rockruff is actually one of the starters, I personally don't buy it at all, the whole thing behind it could easily be an edit. I'd suggest steering clear of such rumors until a small fighting Pokemon is also revealed.

I saw a tweet about this. It seems to be just based on the space left on the starter section, and that Rockruff shares a secret with the starters.

Maybe that secret is synchro? We know Professor Kukui has a Rockruff, so it's possible that he could teach or explain the concept of synchronizing through his own Pokemon. If it's not a new mechanic, than it'll just be story-related.

Either way, Rockruff isn't a starter. Not only would GF not break tradition with a 4th starter, but we've already seen the starter selection screen/process.

Indeed, that's the problem.
They try to enhance the traits the starters have, but then Game Freak stopped doing starter evo like that now.

So I've been thinking not only is the other rival probably just the other gender counterpart to you, but the Pokemon yungoose was brought in to counter might just be pichu lol

Footage of SuMo's opening sequence and Rockruff and Komala in battle from the Hong Kong Nationals.

Notice how Komala can still use normal moves despite its ability giving it permanent sleep staus. It means its ability is the only one that gives it full immunity to all non-volatile status effects, no?

If it gets an evolved form with decent base stats/movepool that retains its ability, then it could be a competitive powerhouse.

Does Komala literally have SLP status while attacking? If it permanently sleeps without the effect of sleep that's really powerful; it's complete non-volatile status immunity as you said. Unfortunately, I guess this means Rest will fail. I hope it gets Slack Off. That would certainly fit.

I actually might be wrong in how I saw how Komala works. It's not asleep but in some half-sleep/half-awake limbo. So basically it's immune to every non-volatile status but sleep. Still a pretty useful ability.

So the island colours for the islands representing Alolola are Yellow, Pink, Purple and Red. So the last 3 guardians could be Fairy, Fairy/Poison, and Fairy/Fire. A Fiery Terrain and Toxic Terrain could be interesting. Also, first potential Poison type for people who have been waiting.

Ice Spikes? I hope that's not another entry hazard.

Game Freak: "Fairy types weren't enough for you, fine then! Here you go!!"

There's always a chance that Niantic made up some moves, but that would be weird because it's not like there's any shortage of Pokemon moves to choose from, like Icicle Spear or Charge Beam. Even though the initial launch is Gen I Pokemon only, there's moves from all generations in the game like Moonblast and Shadow Sneak.

Funny enough, I just saw another possible new move in that list called Starburst.

The Japanese Expo in Paris is in a couple of hours with Masuda...2013 saw the reveal of Honedge plus a video explaining the Kalos = Paris connection, wonder if we'll get anything major this year without the connection to Paris.

I was just watching the Mega Kangaskhan reveal and man, that was HYPE. I know Mega Evolutions are divisive, but I love them, so I hope we there are lots of them in Sun and Moon. Although part of me wonders if they'll be sidelined entirely in favor of a new gimmick, i.e. Synchro.

I'm doubting it. After all, we just got a bunch of new Pokemon last week.

Then again, Coro Coro showed Rockruff and Komala shortly before E3, and then E3 proceeded to show entirely different Pokemon (i.e. Pikipek, Yungoos, Grubbin, etc).
Yeah, but I'm pretty sure that happened last Gen too and internationally they weren't revealed until last week.

On another note, I was looking at Masuda's Twitter just now and he retweeted this gorgeous fan art of Bruxish:

Does GO contain the moves that we know are in Sun/Moon (i.e. Rowlet's new move, etc.)? I find it hard to believe that Game Freak would leave that sort of info in the game, especially considering that GO as of now only contains Gen I Pokémon.

If you find it hard to believe then why are you asking about it when no one else has talked about it in the last three days?

Man, that got me shivering with excitement like it's 2013. GF should reveal cool shit to a huge audience of fans more often.

So um, yeah, this, I don't have a source or anything, but, yeah, this.

In all honestly, maybe it's fake, but Synchro evolution was a given for me ever since Ash-Greninja appeared. This just confirms what I've been thinking for a while IF it turns out to be real. Even if it's not, I think Synchro evolution is the next big think. The way I picture it, it's that your pokemon appearence changes to ressemble your trainer, so that way any pokemon with a Synchro evolution would be different depending on how you customize your character. Would be neat, but still, take it with a block of salt.

Would be very cool if you could Synchro any Pokemon but it'll probably be like starters and popular Pokemon.

Uh yeah it is fake, look at the wrong font and the number 2.

Yeah, it was more than possible, but even then, I think is a cool idea. I was thinking with a friend that, since there is multiple stones in the bracelet (shown in the artwork of the trainers) maybe they represent each of the stats that a pokemon has. Thus, by exchanging the stones and synchro evolving a pokemon, you could boost a specific stat. Would be a cool mechanic in my opinion.

What kind of fake. Someone went out of the way for this.

If this is true.... Synchro should be the huge thing this game should be boasting about along with Battle Frontier and in depth player customization...
