Man, that was horrifying to watch. What was more horrifying for me: my lack of a true emotional reaction to this footage. I've been so desensitized by seeing shit like this month after month in the news that I don't even have a visceral reaction to it anymore - I hate this shit & I hate the state of our country.

Police wanna say shit like this happens cause they afraid? This fucking bullshit keeps ramping the fuck up like it has over the last few years.. they are seriously going to need to be fucking afraid. Jesus christ.

I hate to say this, but this isn't ramping up. This is the reality of where we've been for quite some time. The ubiquity of cameras means now we just get to see it for ourselves instead of reading it in newspaper stories where the official line is provided with two paragraphs of family members and their attorney talking about how the police are lying about what went on.

Our proliferation of gun related crime is unfortunately high enough that it's cops need matching firepower in those incidents.

Though reason 2 is to kill black people quickly with little struggle.
Prevalence of guns dont add up to police deaths, though. It may be an excuse, but it isn't a logical one. In 2015, there were 42 gun related police deaths. More deaths came from traffic incidents. Versus well over 1,000 deaths at the hands of police.

That was in the face of BLM and the claims of open season against cops.

The chief issue is the second class status and the perception that blacks and other minorities just aren't quite human.

Yeah, the whole things automated, humans look into the appeals, IIRC.

That would make the most sense. It got shared at least close to 2 million times very quickly. It would be pretty easy to get a few hundred people reporting the content in that time.

I mean shit, with how few (if any) cases seem to come about due to the officer putting minimal/zero effort into reviving one of their victims, you have to imagine that they look at this like a golden opportunity to reduce liability. Sure, a death is a bigger deal than an assault, but only if they get convicted.

Besides the kid trying to comfort her mother....that is probably the most infuriating thing.

A man is sitting there fucking bleeding out, barely able to hold himself up and the coward fucking cop is just pointing a gun at him and yelling at everyone.

JUST HELP THE FUCKING PERSON YOU JUST SHOT. PUT PRESSURE ON THE WOUND OR SOMETHING FFS

Fuck I was not prepared for that video. The lady is so calm and factual, doesn't seem to occur to her that her boyfriend is dying until he does. Meanwhile the cop outside the car yelling and holding his gun drawn with no chill at all. Rough damn juxtaposition.

Plus dude still has his seatbelt on. It's crazy.

I work in critical care in a trauma hospital. Seeing this guy lay this bleeding out is heart wrenching and really affects me knowing how important quick treatment is. People are saved from these type of injuries all the time with quick treatment.

It's bad enough he was shot, but to have him there bleeding out for who knows how long is mind blowing to me.

This is so fucked. It's unreal. So happy not to live in America.

All LEOs should be placed on suspension pending psychological and training evaluation. Tear the foundation out and rebuild. Keep the good cops, fire the bad ones. Have military pick up the slack meanwhile.

Shit has got to change.

You assume military personnel is any better is wrong. It is true, things need to be changed from the foundation though.

Fucking seriously! I'm fed up. Black people are being targeted in this country, I just don't get it. Why? I don't understand. It's getting worse and worse.

I know what you mean. In a way I really envy the people who still have enough hope and fight left in them, because I am just tired of it and it's calcifying into a permanent anger and cynicism that is scaring me. I've marched, I've donated, I've voted, I've cried, I've defriended asshole family members and acquaintances after wrenching arguments online, I watched streams of Ferguson, and I've posted my anger and condolences on forums like this. And now I'm just so tired of all of that because I don't feel like these gestures of civilized objection do anything.

It might be time to riot soon. It really might.

I feel so powerless to help and do anything after these events. Is there anywhere I can donate that can possibly help? I'm just shaking after watching the video.

I think Obama is going to have to try for some initiative to stem the bleeding in public trust of the police especially by any citizen not white, which is what 30% of the country by now? it becomes a powder keg to just let local police chiefs deal with it, because they won't. He has to order some kind of massive re-training initiative.

Oh I didn't mean to imply that guns are solely for the cops' protection, but to terminate real threats out to harm civilians. Of course that's the ideal and they're sure as hell making a case for losing the privilege.

This is a really small town in Minnesota with a population of only 5,000. This is gonna be crazy especially for that area because its near a college campus and the interim police chief their there hasn’t been an officer-involved shooting in the St. Anthony Police Department’s coverage area in 30 years.

Why the fuck do cops need guns?

They should be taken away from police.
They should have non-lethal weapons, like rubber ammunition at best. Only cops with sterling records and extensive field experience should have actual firearms. Nothing is going to charge regarding racism and stereotyping, so at least lessen the ease with which they can kill innocent people.

The average cop is just a fucking manchild that likes bullying people. There's no bravery involved in doing the job when you can just kill and maim at will with little-to-no repercussion.

There was a small crowd of onlookers recording during all this. Plenty of people were already in the parking lot charging phones in their cars because the apartment complex on Fry St. is without power after the storms the other day, so there were a lot of witnesses.

Oh no! Glad I'm safe and away from America! Come on. You must live an incredibly sheltered life if you think America is a bad place to live. It's not perfect obviously, but you could be in the middle east being stoned to death for being a women.

Pft, don't assume the military will do any better. As someone in the armed forces there are cops I trust more than some of my fellow soldiers.

Twitter pointing out the taillight looks fine on the car. Smfh their bullshit story is falling apart.

Check out @RashadsRepublic's Tweet: https://twitter.com/RashadsRepublic/status/750900353529368576?s=09

Not trying to play devil's advocate or whatever but as a car-nut I have to say that your brake lights can work totally fine while your tailights are out. Often times it is a wiring/fuse issue and not the bulb obviously.

That said, it wouldn't fucking surprise me if there was nothing wrong with them. I have had that happen to me just so they could search my car when I was in high school.

God damn....

The fact that these murders are coming to light in the last few years is maybe the greatest thing technological advancement has brought about in terms of bringing outright racism and hatred into the forefront of American minds. It's undeniable, it's obvious, and it's disgusting.

Just read the Youtube comments. I wish all those racist bastards die a horrible death.

Edit: looks like they were removed

It's a small city geographically and it houses the state fairgrounds which explains the small population, but it's essentially right in the heart of the urban Twin Cities. I'm about 2 miles away in St. Paul right now in a majority black neighborhood and people are out in the streets. Shit's unreal.

This literally happened outside my apartment while I watched. I'm still kind of in shock. Jesus Christ.

Oh God. I'm sorry you had to witness that man. This country is so effed man. I legit get shook anytime I walk by police now. I don't want to be another victim.

I will literally hurl objects at any of my Facebook friends that post anything about how cops should be respected in response to this. I have at least two that do that shit. It's becoming completely obvious a good deal of the police force in this country has no business being in this line of work.

The absolute panic in his voice as he tried to justify shooting him was so telling of how this is going to go down. She was so brave and calm in the face of a dangerous, armed coward. I feel so fucked up right now having seen that. :(

Kinda glad I didn't watch it. Not sure how I can handle it.

Yeah I noticed that looking it up on the map.
