If you had told me 15 years ago that the vice president of USA would one day be openly worried by UK becoming an islamist country I would have thought it was some dystopic fiction. Things are happening so slowly that people might not notice how intense the reactions of the natives are now compared to ten years ago.

I feel like many people have some kind of safeguards against thoughts that scare them, so that they can ignore reality. People were adamant in their beliefs that Russia would never actually wage a real war against Ukraine. They were adamant in their beliefs that Brexit wouldn't happen. Reality is not concerned by what people think is possible, it just happens.

An attack in Madrid against migrants following the reported rape of a 14-year-old Spanish girl has ignited social tensions across the country - just days after riots erupted when a teen 'migrant' died in Switzerland.

The latest assault targeted a centre housing young migrants after the arrest of one of its occupants - a Moroccan teenager accused of raping the girl.

On Sunday evening, two hooded individuals attacked three people near First Reception Centre in the Spanish capital - two minors and an accompanying adult.

One child was left needing hospital treatment before being discharged and police have since opened an investigation.

A Moroccan youth was arrested on Friday morning on suspicion of raping the 14-year-old in a nearby park. A judge has since ordered that he be held in a closed juvenile prison while inquiries continue.

So it seems the target of the attack was not the actual (alleged) perpetrator. I'm not sure whether it's worse to assume that this propagandist actually read the story or not.
