Isn't this basically the 2nd Amendment in action? Government is acting in an oppressive way so you use your guns to fight back.

No. This is some evil pieces of shit murdering innocent people. Blaming Dallas Police for what officers did in Baton Rouge Louisiana or Minnesota is stupidity at it's finest. And municipal police are not the 'government'. You have the President of the US stand in solidarity with the killed civilians. But sniping innocent cops does nothing. If the shooters are men of color who are angry at the innocent deaths of black men then by killing these cops in cold blood, they will have set back any progress they've made in Texas for a long time, as well as cause police officers all over the country from imposing strict rules on any continuing protests.

Anyone seen walking around with a long rifle before the shooting should of been reported.

I realize open carry is legal, however, carrying a long rifle around isn't common at all.

you literally don't know the definition of open carry.

Legally, you can't conceal weapons with special permits, open carry is more safe for police because they can identify a person instantly.

I don't think it does either. Just trying to explain why most cops who blindly defend this stuff do it. My dad is guilty of this shit, he worked 20+ years in the shittier parts of NYC during the 80s and 90s, before it became "disneyland". I've heard plenty of stories but I can separate the acts of individuals from the entirety of a race. Sadly, most guys who have been on the job long enough and towed the company line can't anymore.

I'm 21 and a minority in Singapore where the perception against me is stereotypical but never violent, at the very worst just frustrating and annoying. I go to college in Boston and my mom is terrified because of my skin color, I'm in danger of losing my life. That's the perception she, and many people around the world, have of America now.

That's fucked up about separating acts of individuals and race but I'm not a cop, probably never will be so I could never understand it.

What the actual, terrible fuck.

Seeing tweets of people saying they are now scared to come to the US because of this make me sad. And then I get angry at the fucking snipers who pulled this bullshit. But being sad and being angry doesn't change anything; it just perpetuates the cycle.

How the fuck am I supposed to feel?

Fuck these evil pieces of shit.
Those officers sicking around to gain control of this mess are extremely brave.

that joe walsh dude may just be about to receive a visit from some very very very unfriendly federal agencies.

that looked like a direct threat at the preseident. the secret service, FBI, CIA will not take kindly to that. he may have a very uncomfortable existence for a good while

Good, now let's stop mentioning him.

I have a friend who is a news producer and just started at a station in Dallas yesterday. Needless to say, I do not envy her right now.

He deleted it to update his stats in a new Tweet, not to take it back. He's been posting this anti-BLM shit all night without even waiting to find out the identity of the shooter. He's fucking trash.

Did you not just say that anybody carrying rifles before the shooting should have had the police called on them?

Edit: I quoted the wrong person. Nevermind. Sorry.

Oh, was so confused, then. Was just answering the other poster asking if open carry was illegal or not.

no, we don't know if all suspects are captured or what. nothing is confirmed. need to wait for the next police update.

Open carry is different from carrying long guns.

Open carry of handguns requires a concealed carry license, and the gun must be properly holstered. Neither of those requirements exist for long guns.

Ugh. UGH. I assume this isn't changing.

Open carry? Oh right...Texas.

I really don't get these comments. Do people even realize that Texas is one of the last states to allow open carry? Here is a map showing what states allowed open carry in 2014, before Texas finally allowed it recently. So the "Oh right...Texas" mentality really doesn't make sense other than reinforcing a stereotype.

Sadly this kind of stuff will always happen as long any idiot in america can own a freaking gun.

But it will never change what is just crazy.
