One of them was open concealing a weapon down at the protest but it was not filled with ammo. When this whole thing went down. He got caught up in it for obvious reason and also dodgy reasons.
The older brother is one of the organizers of the protest and his younger brother was wrongly named a suspect for carrying his gun, which he turned over to police when the shooting started ON VIDEO.

Ugh, great. The human cost of these shootings is bad enough... But as far as where this takes things politically? It's like... Just when America was starting the conversation on police shootings and how trigger-happy the cops are, now the conversation becomes about how tragic these cop deaths are and how dangerous police work is, which will go a long way towards justifying the status quo in many people's minds.

CBSN, he went to the police station, was interrogated for half an hour by police saying they have proof he was a shooter.
That's what he said happened to him (they also confiscated his cloths apparently)
The Hughes brothers said that the police told him they have video and witnesses saying he was shooting a gun.

Staging an attack during a peaceful protest is the lowest of the fucking low. I'm all for police reform and am aghast at the recent officer-involved shootings, but slaughtering cops and declaring open season against anyone wearing a badge is, No.1 fucking terrible, and No. 2 setting back any sore of meaningful police reform about 50 years. Not saying, of course, that this is some anti-police protestor planned attack - for all we know it could be wannabe terrorists - but I'm of the belief that you defeat oppression by following the examples of those like Ghandi and MLK. Wanton murder and civil strife isn't going to solve shit.
