Why does the periscope guy keep saying he's a moth? Is that an in joke I am missing or is he just weird/creepy?
and now he's talking some bullshit about BLM. yeah i guess i'll just go to bed.

They're real shaming Fox and CNN, but especially CNN.
It wasn't an anti-police protest. Jesus Christ. Keep fanning those flames. Media is loving all of the bullshit. Shit is getting out of control. Can't believe this week.
The cover certainly is trashy as fuck, but that term "Civil War" may not be far from the truth if things continue.
I find CNN's coverage gets even worse with their after hours anchors.
Who would be the two sides? And how would they fight each other exactly? Get real. The cover certainly is trashy as fuck, but that term "Civil War" may not be far from the truth if things continue.
I mean it did, especially with the Philando Castile video, but this is very much the "shit just got real" moment for me. As much as it sucks to say, I've gotten used to not expecting much to change after seeing more black men shot by cops. This though, this is something else.wait it didn't seem like that before?
I love how the New York Post pretends they know what this was about. absolutelydisgusting.gif
This is statistically not true, the world is better than it's ever been. But media makes us hyper aware of tragedies like this and it strikes fear into the population. The world is ultimately getting better, but there's a lot of shit that still needs fixing.

5th officer dead just confirmed on CBS.
That front page is distasteful but it's the harsh truth.

I'm surprised you didn't hear it. You were a mile away.
Europe is not the USA
God forbid the cops were not armed when this shooting started, how many dead would we have then, not just police officers but innocent people just trying to make progress through peace?
Not buying it, for example IIRC the US crime rate's all-time low was in the mid-2000's. Now we havs ISIS, Syria, the refugee crisis, this situation, and more.
The world economy has never recovered from the late 2007-2009 global financial crisis. Good jobs are harder to come by, which is partially a negative effect of globalization.
China is trying to bully its neighbours, and then there's Russia behaving like they are ready to make it one minute to midnight on the Doomsday clock.
While I agree with Davepoobond saying open carry ain't for us, bro this ain't the thread to say that shit. At all.

I think some of you guys are blowing this out of proportion.
It would take a lot, and I mean a lot, before the country descends into literal civil war.
I'm talking simultaneous LA Riots that are across the entire nation, and they'd each have to be bigger than what that was.
During the interview they asked are the cops going to go out in front of the media and clear their names. They didn't get an answer, then it seems Mark was handcuffed again after asking for his property back.
They called him a suspect on Twitter and they STILL haven't taken down the tweet.

They tried to trick him into confessing to a crime he didn't commit. If it wasn't for that twitter video showing it was impossible for him to be involved, he could've been in a whole lot of trouble. Hell, he already is, thanks to way he was plastered all over the news.

Probably the most intense footage I've seen from the event yet, civilian footage from inside a parking garage. You can very briefly see what I think is the shooter running away in the distance to the left around the 0:12 mark, but the rest is just tension from the people stuck in the middle of it.
I feel so drained.
None of what you said actually refutes what he said.
Apparently it's over?
According to CBS
That front page is distasteful but it's the harsh truth.

CBSN saying it's over. Police got the ending they wanted is what they are reporting.
What "harsh truth". This wasn't an anti-police protest, the police helped the protesters plan and guard the event for fucks sake. That's not even to mention how insanely irresponsible it is to call this the start of a "Civil War". we don't even know who did this.
So the Dallas PD officers participating were protesting themselves?
Not the text, the image. Please explain how this was an anti-police protest.
Like I said, they are going to do their due diligence to check everything at this point. I am sure there is an entire procedure to this that is gonna suck for him.
They should definitely take down the tweet at this point, but wasn't he a suspect because people reported him (and the fact he was carrying an AR-15) to the police? It's an unfortunate situation that I hope gets rectified, but he was technically a suspect at that point right?
And yes, I understand that he had given his gun up to the cops but I think it is a bit much to expect every single officer and social media manager to know stuff like that in the middle of that chaos with shooters still at large.
How did that go down? Is there an archived video?
I mean sometimes they are going to make pointed questions, because that is the best way to get a clear and concise answer to clear someone's name. Police questioning is always like that in my opinion, even for something as simple as reporting your own damn wallet lost. It is annoying and frustrating of course, but that's their job.
Just to be clear, I think they fucked up putting his photo out that quickly but in the heat of the moment I don't think it is fair to call it disgusting or try to pin ulterior motives to the department. They were basically stuck in a chaotic warzone with active shooters on the loose. If someone comes up and tells them they have video of someone shooting, they are going to look into it and take it seriously.
So does NYP even know what the term "civil war" means? Or is getting views more important to them than inciting hate?
