Pokémon Sun & Moon | Info and speculation thread

What kind of fake. Someone went out of the way for this.

Someone who's going to recieve a visit from nintendo's ninjas very soon probably.

EDIT to take my theory to this page:
Yeah, it was more than possible, but even then, I think is a cool idea. I was thinking with a friend that, since there is multiple stones in the bracelet (shown in the artwork of the trainers) maybe they represent each of the stats that a pokemon has. Thus, by exchanging the stones and synchro evolving a pokemon, you could boost a specific stat. Would be a cool mechanic in my opinion.

I've just realized that in the new interface each Stat has a distinctive color, one that matches every stone in the bracelet. So yeah, maybe we're into something here. Imaging a boost to the specific stat, even if little, plus the possibility of holding an item like Life Orb. That right there would by a meta changer in my opinion.

Damnit.

I was planning on skipping this entry. Salandit sold me.

Also I thought I read somewhere that the Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow games could have its Pokemon transferred to Sun and Moon? I got Yellow currently. Meaning access to all 3 Kanto starters! And a special pikachu.

yeah R/B/Y will be getting pokebank support around the time of sun and moon release

Well to be fair, I remember people calling Greninja fake because the font for the typing was different to the pre-release media. Though that 2 is really weird, and outright calling it a fan term like Synchro seems suspect.

Pretty sure Synchro is what it is already called in the anime

I don't think the actual term "Synchro" has been used, it's just called Ash-Greninja since that's the only who's known to be capable of it so far.

Since it's apparently similar to megas, it would be more believable if it was called "Synchro Evolution".

the anime didn't need gems or bracelets to sync tho

it's been used but not as a proper noun

Who isn't supporting Pokémon Bank?? It's incredibly useful and cheap as hell. Plus all the free stuff you get just for using it.

Yup, I never got the backlash for the fee. There's probably billions of Pokémon stored on the Bank servers, no shit that it would cost money.
I'm using mine as a Living Dex host, not far off completion either. Then in future games all that would be needed is getting the new 100 or so, quick transfer and bam, instant full pokedex.

I absolutely hate the idea of having to pay for a feature i.e. transferring Pokémon from one generation to another that was previously free in past games (Gen III - IV, IV - V) and have refused to do so. $5 might seem like nothing, but it's $5 i'd rather put towards anything aside from this.

EDIT:
I'd rather pay 5 Bucks a year than buying a second handheld for that process.

Given that Black & White were on the DS and X/Y/OR/AS were on the DS, one would likely already own both if they bought each game when originally released, especially considering how many DS' there are out there to begin with. If there was an alternate method, I would take it, even it is slightly more difficult to use than Bank. Even if you don't have a 2nd DS, you could borrow one from a friend and use it to transfer it prior to Bank being the only option and likely being the only option going forward. The point being that the actual use of the transfer didn't cost you a dime. You can't use Bank without paying for it, period.

Fake or not, syncing up to boost a stat of your choice would be neat. I also still think that using it to gain access to a fifth move would do well to mix things up.

Why would the Synchro button need a help button?

What's up the gem shifting? I doubt GF would make players mess around with touchscreen in the middle of a battle.

#TeamFake

Actually, everything has a help button now, even the attacks. They even tell you which one is super effective and on which pokemon. GF probably thinks that players are dumber with each entry.

So um, yeah, this, I don't have a source or anything, but, yeah, this.

Something else I just realized is that no starter can learn Cotton Spore, so that makes it more likely to be fake. It could be Rowlet's final but the move seems to be limited to the more plant and sheep Pokemon.

Yeah, makes sense. That and the weird "2" that's actually a "5" upside down. But even so, I still think (or more hope than anything else) that my theory is "possible". Mostly because it would be a nice twist on the current meta.

EDIT:
When's our next hit of Poke-info?

I would have to guess at the 2016 World Championships. Mostly because CoroCoro has been nothing more than "more info next issue" lately, just for it to be tidbits about the movie and information that already came out (aside from Rockruff and Komala)

In all honestly, maybe it's fake, but Synchro evolution was a given for me ever since Ash-Greninja appeared. This just confirms what I've been thinking for a while IF it turns out to be real. Even if it's not, I think Synchro evolution is the next big think. The way I picture it, it's that your pokemon appearence changes to ressemble your trainer, so that way any pokemon with a Synchro evolution would be different depending on how you customize your character. Would be neat, but still, take it with a block of salt.

It's clearly fake, the 2 is an upside down 5 and the menu with the gem stones animation just looks cheap and lifeless when Game Freak tend to be snappy with theirs.

Contrary to popular belief but transfering Pokémon in 4 and 5 were not "free" you had to own the game, own a DS with a GBA slot for gen 4 and own a second DS for gen 5.

Plus it was time consuming as you could only transfer 6 at a time with the sinnoh game being once per day plus you had to do a mini game.

Furthermore with the Bank method it allows Game Freak to completely bypass hardware limitation so our Pokémon can now forever travel forward across the generation and in my eyes that's worth paying a measly £5 a year, which is quite frankly pocket money change.

Oh and one more thing Bank allows players to easily switch Pokémon between cart without having to boot up a second 3DS, so it's a massive time saver.

When's our next hit of Poke-info?

Corocoro should be leak Sunday/Monday, I was thinking that they were going to officially reveal Salandit in Japan then but it looks like the site has done that already.

There was no hint at huge information like there was for Megas, so I wouldn't expect the mechanic with the bracelets to be revealed until August, probably around Worlds.

I just want more new Pokeymanz

Gimme all the new Pokeymanz

Well, let's look at what they've revealed so far, and when they've revealed it...

May 10th- Starters, legendaries, first footage revealed.
June 2nd- Region reveal, legendary typings, Rotom Pokédex, characters.
June 11th- Zygarde formes shown off in-game, and Magearna's ability and special move detailed. Rockruff and Komala revealed in Coro Coro.
June 14th- E3 reveals; Yungoos, Pikipek, Grubbin, Battle Royale.
July 1st- New Pokémon- Tapu Koko, Charjabug, Vikivolt, Drampa, Cutiefly, Togedemaru, Bruxish. Rockruff and Komala revealed in the West.
July 7th- Salandit revealed.

It's still too early to nail down a specific pattern, but it does seem like they're looking to have new info out every two to three weeks. E3 and Japan Expo were fixed events, but they've shown that they're more than willing to drop a steady stream of info out through Youtube to fill the gap on their own schedule. I would be surprised if we went for more than a fortnight without new information from now on.

We can probably expect more info from Coro Coro this month, though it does seem curiously disconnected from the reveals this time around- its only big reveals thus far have been Rockruff and Komala, and we didn't see either of those Pokémon in the West for the best part of a month. What we're seeing this time around is TPCi taking control of the reveals themselves- although Coro Coro will undoubtedly receive a few reveals here and there, I don't see it being the major source of information it once was.

Don't forget the Volcanion film airs the 16th in Japan---the last Diamond and Pearl film featured a new trailer for Black and White that showed off Victini and Patrat while the last Black and White film featured a trailer for X&Y that showed off Trevanant. I imagine this will happen again.

Maybe this time though the official site will upload the trailer that day instead of us having to go by the Japanese movie-goers reports on what the new Pokemon look like as was the case with Trevanant.

I think Bank is worth it if you own multiple games. Having it as centralized storage and being able to move Pokemon freely between X and Alpha Sapphire has been well worth the subscription cost for me.

If you're only using it to transfer Pokemon I could see why you wouldn't want to pay. There was a month long free trial when it first came out so maybe they'll do that again for people who just want to transfer to Sun and Moon.

Volcanion movie comes out Saturday right? And then Pokenchi on the 17th? Any chance we will see a new Pokemon along with Magearna?

I'm really starting to wonder whether Megas are going to be cut from this game. My friends are pretty much convinced they are and that's been making me doubt myself lol

I doubt it.

Mega evolution is still a part of the Magearna movie. Admittedly the movies and anime do tend to stray from the games in small ways, but I doubt that they'd have Megas shown alongside a Gen 7 pokemon, if they weren't going to have them in the next game.

Now whether or not they're going to add new megas, is another question entirely.

Why would Mega Evolution be removed? It was well received overall. Removing it would make no sense.

Not seeing a new one yet means nothing. They've only revealed brand new Gen VII Pokemon so far, and (aside from Diancie) it seems that Pokemon don't get given Mega Evolutions in the same generation they were released. I think they're just letting the focus be on the completely new Pokemon at the moment, but we'll probably get a few Mega Evolutions shown off soon. Darkrai and Cresselia seem likely given the Sun/Moon theme, as do Solrock/Lunatone and Espeon/Umbreon.

Mega Darkrai would break the meta even more than Mega Rayquaza..

They're definitely going to do it then
