Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

Here's a stupid question I don't think I've seen asked before. Does putting your Pokemon in a Gym heal it completely? I imagine it'd be silly if there were Pokemon who started with missing health in Gym fights, but I keep using Potions just in case after spars/fights.

Get out of AR mode for easy catching.
There's been times when trying to catch that the pokemon just start drifting to a side and it makes it super hard to catch.

Did this today.

Makes a world of difference especially when I'm not lucky enough to have a shit ton of Poke stops near me for free balls.

I want no part of this game but man is it really happening out there. I'm in Iowa and street pass and the like, I never see. Well, my friends were at a music festival in DT Des Moines this weekend and they told me about a group of 20-somethings that pulled up to them in a car and asked if they were playing Pokemon. Today, I had some people over to drink by the pool and grill and when we went outside there were people on my steps trying to catch Pokemon. It was a two 20-somethings; a man and a woman. We were at the pool and there was another couple in their 20s walking around the pool fence. I asked if they were playing Pokemon and they said yes. My friend decided to download it and we caught a Pokemon on a tree.

What is happening.

So I ran into a weird glitch today after work. I took the gym at the bus stop and then the servers messed up, so I decided to reopen it and check the status of the gym only to find out that I apparently have now won 170 gym battles, which is odd because prior to that I think I only participated in 5 at most.

I mean I don't mind all too much since I went up two levels from it, but still, strange.

Game keeps freezing up every time I catch a Pokemon
This has happened to many many times in the past 30 minutes. Missed the capturing of a Jigglypuff :(

This game is great, but it needs some work. I wish the game had little shops on the map where we could buy different things like more potions, etc.

I'm pretty sure those things will come along, but I feel like the devs need to move faster, because if they don't act, people will move along due to the bugs. Nintendo has so much going on with this game, I'd hate for them to lose such an amazing concept due to negligence

Just found out a bit ago a local Community College is a gym. Drove over there and saw a group of no less than 20 people playing.

This game is crazy mega huge

Isn't there a max CP for each Pokemon?

Haven't hit one yet, I don't think...

Well he is maxed out but I'm assuming his cap is going to go up once I level

You're part of the revolution now homie

I can't believe this. The servers in Puerto Rico are offline and supposedly they will be online on July 15th. I was a beta tester for Ingress and it sucks that I (my kid 🙄) can't play this when all they already have the infrastructure in place. Oh well.

I'm not a game developer, but what's the earliest we could see an update being rolled out? This game sorely needs one.

I check the Twitter a couple times and they're pretty quiet.

So do you battle each other in this game just like the real version, you level up them up and get new skills and gym badges and all that?

This is what I'm wondering. I wouldn't be surprised if the playerbase starts falling off within the next few weeks.

No, you can't walk up to someone and battle them. You can only battle people at other gyms. If you win, you'll become the gym leader and you can gain exp if you win. If you lose, you'll lose the gym. There aren't any gym badges, sadly.

The majority of what you've mentioned is what I wish the game had.

Number of Pokeballs used to catch CP80 Growlithe: 1

Number of Pokeballs used to catch CP12 Zubat: 8

The bane of my existence.

That's what worries me. This game takes actually quite a bit of effort to get good. In our come and go age people will only deal with server issues and major glitches for so long. People don't wanna have a rare Pokemon not count, cause the game froze for the millionth time on the catch.

The infrastructure is not in place, that's why it has been delayed. There are still server problems in the regions it has released in.

What's the limit for lure etiquette? Like if someone keeps dropping lures outside a coffee shop, offer to buy them a coffee? That too much? Seen a couple people that just seemed glad to help others out and felt like I could have offered them something in return. Were dropping lures for like an hour and a half.

Anyone have any fix ideas if the Pokeball freezes the game during the capture every time. People around me had no issues, but catching a Pokemon froze the app the last five or six times for me now.

so apparently you need to turn your phone upside down to use it idly so you don't lose your GPS signal. Another thing I wish the game outright told you.

just got a dratini in my 10km egg with enough candies to evolve :D that 2am walk worth the risk of getting stabbed.

team yellow proper re-enforcing my area. The gym i left to the boy who approached me earlier (i couldnt properly defend without a back and forth), well some boys drove past my house, I was wondering why there was a car sitting outside my house at 1am. after they drove away, i only realised a clefairy and lapras fortify the gym i left.

The boy with a clefairy was the leader 2 mins away with a pinsir, on my 2am walk, I took down his gym which was also reinforced with 3 other poke's.

Red and yellow outnumber my area. I feel like im the only blue here. I know theres one girl on blue kicking about, but she doesnt seem active. All the blues are in the city. My defenses wont last long, I need to level up, half way to level 13!

if you havent already, turn AR off, this only happens to me on AR mode.

Around here lures are usually dropped in places that have other nearby stops

I'll always drop another lure so we can stack the effects

Shit gets absurd after +3 lures

Went to a university near here and even though it's a summer day there were SO many people out and about playing this it was actually really cool. We would be walking around looking for the Slowpoke and someone would just randomly go "looking for the slowpoke? it's down there towards the end" and stuff like that. Really cool day and we got to walk around for like 3 hours lol

I need to:
1) Learn how to track better I guess
2) Learn how to get nice/great lol
3) Learn what the hell to do @ gyms.
4) Figure out which is better, powering up earlier as it's 200/1 or on 3rd evolution when it's 600 stardust and 1 candy.

The gyms is my least favorite part so far. I have none near me in the suburbs. Once you catch pokemon is all there is to do is power them up and fight at gyms? Anything else?

edit: Holy shit Adam, 77k stardust, that's sooooooooooo much.

Closest Gym got taken over by my team and I want to help, but I'm kind of already in "sleep mode". As fun as actually going out and exploring is, there are always small moments like this that make me wish the distances weren't so strict haha.

-The game does not track steps toward egg hatching if the screen is off or the app is in background
-The game will not deliver notifications for nearby pokéstops, gyms, or Pokémon if the screen is off or the app is in background

What are the chances that these two issues are ever addressed and fixed in a patch? Or is the answer that you need to buy the Pokemon Go Plus accessory for these capabilities. It can't be an oversight right?
