I have literally no idea what game it is and I can't "work it out".
Lovely pics! I recently grabbed this game, but unfortunately it refuses to run on my PC, I don't know why. =/

They manage some somewhat interesting architecture despite the limited poly count. The 3D rendered flames always crack me up though. They look super jank.

Yeah, this... even if you're not on W10 (I'm on W7 64-bit and couldn't start the game), get the latest Nvidia driver, it fixes the crash on start-up.

Yeah, I reverted to a driver from January, then I got the latest one, but none of these worked for me. =/
Yeah, I have that one installed. Yesterday I sent them a mail. Let's see if they're able to help me. If not, then I'll ask Nuuvem a refund. Grr, I hope it comes before the end of the winter sale. ;(

Ok, what's a good DX11 Screen/video capture software since afterburner wants to be assholes and not upgrade. I like bandicam but I aint paying $40 for that shit.
I don't think I've ever had an issue with DX11 games using MSI Afterburner's screenshot feature. As for video, Shadowplay is the best thing (Nvidia exclusive of course) unless you want uncompressed footage in which case you may want to choose Fraps (which is fine for screenshots, too).

I still use it these days for everything. It's particularly nice because it captures ReShade as well.

I use the good old Steam's F12. Just make sure you check the option to save an uncompressed copy.

What are you using to downscale to 1080? It seems like your shots might be a bit overly sharp? Its not obscenely strong, but seems to sort of counter the benefits of downsampling.

So I downloaded CheatEngine and I noticed in the installer window there's something about InstallCore, which is apparently one of those apps that bundles other software with the software you want to install. Does CheatEngine do this?

I'm pretty sure you don't have to install any additional software. I never had to install anything extra, and I've used up to version 6.5.

Hmm okay, it gave me a weird prompt that had no clear way of NOT installing the additional software (ByteFence or something, and Chromium browser w/ Yahoo toolbar) but I did manage to get past them. I downloaded the file directly from the website, and I made sure to double check it first.
