The only Pokestops even remotely close to me are all at the Park which makes no sense considering there is literally only 1 stop in my town which is at the library.

Over 100 people playing at 10:30pm on Ohio State University's campus in the center of a trio of PokéStops:

This game is INSANE.
Holy shit.
Craziest to me was still the experience rolling around with people from my team from 3am-6am on Sunday night/Monday morning. I completely assumed we'd be alone and sweep a bunch of gyms uncontested. We ran into at least one person literally everywhere we stopped. My suburbs are ALIVE, it's so good.
I dunno about that device. Even exploring, I still like to look at my phone as an overworld map of sorts...and it doesnt hurt that im really into AR.

EDIT: also walked into a goddamn pole!! also dropped my phone(no damage...thanks otterbox!!) the woman looked at me and said "I hope that wasn't because of that Pokemon game!"
I find the proximity of these posts to be deeply wonderful

Here's how it works

CP is the pokemon's strength in combat

the higher the better

The little curve tells you how high you can go based on your level - if your little dot is near halfway you've got a lot more you can go to make it maxed out on CP

If you're near the top, you need to level up more to make the pokemon stronger.

I've noticed that size seems to correlate with how much of a CP bar potential a pokemon has, is this true or am I just finding correlation where there is none?

I have an XL Eevee who is ~75% with ~300CP and a XS Eevee who is 40% with ~110CP, for example.

Well I made it down to the boardwalk and sure enough there was a 349 Charmander down there. Nice find although it will be difficult to find enough to evolve.

There were also 3 gyms, of which I took 2, but were soon taken back within minutes.

The key to holding a gym is to find one that's in a remote location. There's one down in a gulch by my house that is inaccessible from the path. Held that thing for 2 days before someone was brave enough to go down there and get it. I will probably go back and get it later.

My TiVo added a Pokemon option to the main menu. I can't believe the mass market popularity...

Also, catch of the day! It may have been in a traffic circle next to the sub place when I was picking up dinner... I was tracking him and another dude pointed me to the exact location.

It's crazy. I went out at 4 AM since I was on the trail of a gastly...and I found other people doing the same. Stuff like this is happening without the game even being officially released in Canada.

"Take a break! Remember how you used to just sit your ass on the couch for hours and hours at a time? Remember that shit?!? PLEASE!"

edit: Also NICE Gengar. So jelly.

Pokemon Go was banned at Kent State University. I wonder if other universities will follow suit. Hopefully not!

EDIT: Looking in to it more, it looks like its a photoshop. Ah well. Hopefully this doesn't actually happen to any college.

Also, someone just yelled POKEMON GO! outside my window. What. the. fuck.

I see. So is there a way to tell if one Pokemon is stronger than another of the same kind? Like, I have 2 Pidgeys. Can one of them be stronger than another? Also, can I tell if a pre-evolved version will be stronger than an already evolved version?

Universities have no right to enforce that kind of rule. Students should be able to do whatever they want outside of the classroom as long as it's legal.

I am getting alot of pokemon escaping this morning. Low level ones (green), i capture them, they shake, then puff a cloud of smoke and gone.

Also pokestops not giving me any balls, constantly

What am i doing wrong ? Logged in multiple times, close app multiple times, nothing.

I found a lost wallet in the park playing Pokemon Go. Free $250 for me! :D Thanks Nintendo.

I searched through the wallet, found info, searched the owner and his wife on Facebook. Messages both of them telling them I found it, where, and I'd like to return it.

I downloaded the update, and checked my "apps connected to my google acct" and it said Pokemon Go still had full access after running the app.

I removed Pokemon Go access to my account, now when I load the game it can never get my profile data... it just hangs on the loading screen then after a minute it says can't get info with a retry button.

What am I supposed to do now? Is there a way to give access back to the app (but not full access, which the patch apparently fixed)?

The higher your player level the more difficult to capture Pokemon becomes regardless of rarity. As for the pokestops not giving you items depends if your passing by too fast or something else entirely.

Buddy I were coming back home from a bar... spotted a fucking blastoise, drove around for half an hour and the shit never went below two prints in every direction. We drove home depressed.

Last time I found something like that was driving! A whole fucking purse by a 19 year old. Credit cards, checks and like $300 in cash. Returned it to the address with phone number......not even a fucking phone call thanks back........pissed me off

Are spawns still considered random?

I've been noticing all rare pokemon spawn in similar places, and are usually at higher elevation

I think the trade off is the Pokemon you fine seem to have higher CP. I used to only find Weedles with 10-30 CP, now I've caught them with as high as 90--and since CP never goes down when you evolve, I suppose that means I can eventually get Beedrills that don't suck terribly.

Nope its a pokestop in my office, so refreshes every 5 mins, will not give me items no matter what i do.

I am only a level 4 , so nfi why i cant capture a cp70 . I am logged in for my daughters account, when i log in as my , pokestops work fine.

EDIT : now i get servers are down so probably related.

Questions

Why do I only have the fights option when at my own team gym.

When battling is the point to lower the gym by beating it a bunch of times and then change it to your color?

GG Pokemon Go, you made me buy a new phone already. That Moto G 4th Gen on Prime Day sale was a nice price and now the camera will work! Android 6 as well, which will be a very nice upgrade.

What bums me out more than anything is that I'm having a tonsillectomy this monday and will be stuck in bed for at least a week, possibly two. Gonna get left so far behind, and I just took over my first gym today!
