Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

I prefer seeing Valor and Instinct teams because that means I can actually fight with more than one Pokemon! (If I'm free of glitches that is.)

The app seemed to be working better for me today after I updated the Android version but now I can't get in the app. Gets to the loading page and tells me that it failed to log me in and to try again or use a different account but a sign out button pops up above that and it won't let me do anything at that point. :(

Hopefully it will be up again for me before I go out to a nearby park to stock up on items.

So those stupid Pip Boys might actually come in handy now.

Bushwick, New York: Man Says He Was Caught Cheating on Girlfriend Through 'Pokémon Go' App

Evan Scribner told The New York Post his partner caught him cheating with an ex-girlfriend through the game's GPS tracking. "She saw that I had caught a Pokémon while at my ex's house," he said.

I should just install the APK from apkmirror instead of waiting for the UK release right? It'll work and update correctly and show the right currency and connect to the right servers and everything right?

I really hope that they patch in the ability to play music from another app and still hear sounds from Pokemon Go. I want to bike around listening to my favorite music and hear alerts for when a pokemon or pokestop appears, but I can't. I can either ride around listening to music and stopping every block or so to make sure I don't miss anything, or I can ride around in silence waiting to hear a notification noise from the app. It's not game-breaking, but Pokemon Go is the only app that I've used that doesn't have the feature implemented.
Turn off in-game music in the settings.

You uh, can on android. Just pull the top bar down and click play...

??

You can definitely do this, at least on iOS.

I listen to my podcasts and spotify just fine, on Android.

Huh, I definitely can't on my Android. If I'm listening to music when I open the app, it pauses the music. If I unpause the music, I can't hear anything from the app (even if I pause the music again). I'll have to look in to it a bit more.

Edit: Tried again with both the google music app and spotify app. Start music, open pokemon app, and the music pauses. Swipe down and unpause music, can't hear anything from the app. Pause the music to be sure, and still hear no music or sounds from the app, even after toggling the settings. Phone is a Droid Maxx and running Version 24.21.7.en.US , which is the most recent update available. Anyone have any other suggestions?

First 10k egg = Eevee... Smh.

Getting a little fed up with the game. It's bad game design to feel less powerful the more you level up, but that's how catching Pokemon is in this game. Pokemon never used to run away but at level 15 I just had 4 Pokemon in a row break out once then run (two of these were a low level caterpie and pidgey). The way it should be is that the higher level you are, the higher cp you can catch easily (green) but that isn't the case. Instead Pokemon just keep getting harder and harder to catch.

Things I learnt today:

1. You cannot take your Pokemon from a gym at all to power it up. You have to wait until it's defeated. Lame.

2. Incense is pretty lame. Half an hour of rattata, pidgey and weedle.

3. That pokeball freezing glitch: Just wait for the white loading ball to stop spinning, then reload. I caught the pokemon 100% of the time.

4. You can't switch between pokeballs and great balls? It appears you have to use up pokeballs before great balls become an option.

5. People on Facebook can be intolerant assholes. People fear what they don't understand.

It's a bit mitigated by introducing greatballs and ultraballs but I agree, should be a bit better.

You can. Touch the backpack icon when catching a Pokemon and then touch the greatball icon.

Number 4 is not true, just go to the items section while you are trying to capture and choose either great/regular balls.

Beaten like a Team Instinct gym.

Today's going to be a down day for Northwestern U. Its going to be heavy thunderstorms and humidity is through the roof, no one is going out and you can even tell... no lures are up at all today in the usual spots.

2. It is lame, but I've had unconventional things spawn, like a Ryhorn, Venomoth, Squirtle, and a Bulbasaur, across 4 incense uses.

4. You can, go into your items on the catching screen, select the Great balls. It defaults to Pokeballs because Great Balls are harder to come by, don't wanna waste a Great Ball on a 10CP Pidgey after all.

Went for a nice short walk and only caught a Raticate :/ Im going to have to take a bus into the city to really get anything decent. Plus side tho was able to drop a Pokemon in the local Valor gym to help hold it.

Level 10 and I just spent over an hour walking around the walking paths and parks in my area. My walk resulted in a whole 2 Rattata and a Pidgey. Maybe it's because I'm in the suburbs and not in some major metropolitan area but the spawns feel like they're slowing down and I'm rapidly losing interest.

I have no idea why but all my poke balls are magically curving to the left or right when I'm just tossing em straight. Shit was normal yesterday. If I try to curve toss it myself, the balls fly off screen. I've wasted a ton of poke balls today.

Also updated the game today, and it crashes more now.

Combined all this with the servers being taxed, this is getting frustrating.

I feel the same. I am getting ready to submit a ton of locations though

Hopefully they go through and I can start getting some actual spawns in my area.

This happens so often to me with Great Balls, never with regular Pokeballs though.

This is going to be tough for people downloading the app later when all the gym levels will be so high. Do they plan on having certain gym locations have a maximum CP allowed? That would help fix it

- Go to local park to walk my dog and play Pokémon Go
- Have 2 women in their 60s see me and say "hey is that puppy gonna help you catch some Pokémon?"

Shit is sureal man that people like this are even aware of exactly what the game is. Crazy

Also met about 20 other trainers there.

It'd be neat if there were like different tiers for a gym depending on your level. 5-9, 10-14, etc. Kind of how it's implied in Pokemon Origins.
