Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

All servers down. Hope they are updating for more stability. Need those same changelogs like Sony. More stability please.

They changed that Ratata medal to be less shit and just be catch ratatas right instead of ones that weigh >1?

For some reason, now when I try and open the app it asks me to sign up, or log in the trainer club (have no idea what that is). I must have accidentally clicked "try different account" when the log in failed?

Anyway I clicked sign up, cos I couldn't work out what else to click, then it asked me to sign in to gmail and it says servers are overloaded. Did I fuck this up though and reset my account or something?

Nah, I've been taken to that gmail/trainer club sign in page multiple times before. If you hit gmail it should just take you straight back into your game after some loading. I find it does that after some server fuckups usually.

They really need to offer free incense or something for all the server troubles. I've wasted roughly $3 worth during my last session (about 15 Pokemon captures froze, on top of the game not loading for around 40 minutes of incense time).

Thanks. I wonder if I'd have the motivation to start from scratch again if I lost my data.

I'm sure it's posted but

What the fuck right now?

First of all, an event that's up on Hillary Clinton's site doesn't mean it's organized specifically by Hillary Clinton staff. If it's set up like OFA, there are volunteer driven teams that can post events on the site.

However, I think it's pretty smart actually. I was thinking of how to use it to gather visibility for some issue advocacy I do.

Yeah, I don't live near a major metropolitan area filled with businesses that are stops and gyms, I rarely see anything besides Rattata/Pidgey/Weedle/Spearow, and any gyms that actually are nearby are all far too high-level for me to challenge, so this is quickly losing its luster.

Shame, too, because the concept is still utterly brilliant. It just sucks that it discriminates so heavily against people who don't live downtown somewhere.

How are people walking into shit while playing this? It's not like it demands 100% of your attention. Driving interference is obvious, because anything that takes your eyes off the road makes you a danger. But walking around? How did dudes fall off a cliff playing this game? Was it their first time outside? Did they not know how gravity worked? Are people sticking their noses into their phone screens and turning off the outside world? How close are they holding the game that they aren't aware of their surroundings?

I guess if you're distracted trying to catch a pokemon you might hit something. I'm always careful to stop and stand off to the side when I'm catching a pokemon, I don't trust myself to walk while focused on the screen.

Bleh. Foot's been a bit sore today. I should probably take a day off from Pokemon hunting but it's so hard... this game is so good.

Do protein bars help with walking and running? I got about 35 left from Costco and I wonder if they contribute to leg muscle growth.
If absolutely necessary, yes, they're a good pick-me-up on the go, however it's best just to eat some more healthy natural protein rich foods like tuna or nuts, which are high in healthy fats and have no added sugars.

As always, the less processed, the better.

I was going to go to the lake today to catch some more pokemon since there's overlapping constant lure pokestops over there.

But now it's raining. :(

Gym battles are going well for me. Putting in work downtown.

I'm getting really tired of the instability of this app. Crashes galore, log in problems, steps not registering properly. I had a 5km egg that just... disappeared. Super frustrating.

Sort Pokemon by recent- likely it hatched and it was just the animation/event that glitched out from the server issues.

Seriously, take an umbrella. You will have a great time. Last weekend when the game first came out I went and rode my bicycle in the rain through our local trails, trying to get distance on my eggs. I put my iPhone in a Ziploc bag, put pants on, and my waterproof jacket. It was a blast. There was a moment there I was definitely living my childhood cycling around looking for Pokemon. There was something magical about that.

If we need candies from catching repeats to power up our pokemon then isn't that going to make Legendaries kinda weak because of their exclusivity?

Been discussing this with friends today, and personally I don't think we'll actually get to catch legendaries, only defeat them to add to the Dex, probably via raid-tier stuff. In the main games, everyone plays as the hero, the chosen trainer who gets all the good shit because reasons. Here, we're all just regular trainers. Based on our locations, some of us are forced into the roles of Youngster Joey or Fisherman #23 who can only really catch what is on hand for them barring some RNG miracle. Those who travel more or get lucky might be an Ace Trainer or Gentleman with rarer 'mons.

It doesn't make sense for everyone to have these apparently super-rare or one-off things, especially when the nature of the game means that any kind of raid activity, as teased in the original trailer, would potentially give thousands of people in the same place the same monster, effectively making it redundant among active players while excluding those who didn't get it. Not exactly 'GOTTA CATCH 'EM ALL', sure, but unless I'm mistaken, they haven't used that phrase at all in branding or marketing Go.

EDIT: Additional thought: birds are obviously tied to factions, so what if Uno/Dos/Tres are tied to some kind of larger faction war in the pipeline? Farfetch'd's absence suggests it could be tied to a trading mechanic (mirroring the original games) and Ditto's absence could be seen as being saved for the introduction of a breeding mechanic, so a faction change system - which right now would be pretty pointless, as it's just 'what colour do you want this Gym to be?' - could allow for timed events where the winning faction in whatever get catch/Dex credit on the respective bird. Maybe even make it usable by the best contributors in a region or whatever. Then the event repeats on a monthly cycle or whatever, with loyalties shifting accordingly. No idea how they'll handle the Mew2, though...

I go on a bike ride and the servers go down. I'm getting seriously tired of this. Even more so today because there was a heatwave all day and it's finally not death inducing outside

Seems like they've been down for a while so maybe they're getting ready to add another country?

This app is so fucked. Literally 30 people around me just caught a Starmie and my game decides to give me that stupid ass "Our Servers" screen. I'm convinced iPhones are terrible for this game.

Don't worry. The app froze on me while trying to catch a Staryu AND Starmmie, both of which my sister got, and I'm on Android so don't feel too bad.

I need help iding a pokemon.

It was a ball shaped pokemon with 2 strands of hair on it's side and 4 "leaves" on its left. I'm not sure what it was as I already have oddish.
