Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

You know, I downloaded that Opinion Rewards app and I have not gotten a single survey since the first one after the tutorial that was about whether I use AdSense. Did I fuck up somehow? I want my free credit dammit!

I always get surveys after I go to shopping malls or supermarkets

No, I read other people saying they don't send many surveys now. I did the same and haven't gotten anything other than the tutorial.
 
So today was pretty awesome. Was out from 7pm-11pm at our towns marina/beach/park where all of the Gyms and Stops are condensed within a small area (4 gyms, 12 stops) and pretty much everybody was there playing the game. As time went on all of the non-players had left and it was just us placing lures and moving as a group to each stop to farm points and pokemon. Ended up being a great time, and before dispersing we created a Facebook group for the community which if it gets large enough will allow us to keep the towns situation up to date.
 
Is there a guide to teach me how to properly raise and evolve pokemon in this? How do I know if I caught a high CP pokemon? Do I power up to max before evolving?
 
Yay the app seems to be up in my region on the app store now and it works on my Intel chip phone.

I haven't seen a single Pokemon yet though.. maybe it's still not actually here..

The community aspect of this is pretty amazing. I was just driving around my neighborhood and saw so many groups of people (mainly, but definitely not all HS age) walking up and down the main drag (clearly playing), sitting down in at a park where there's a gym, all laughing and having a great time. People are out meeting neighbors and getting some exercise - wish they'd talk about that on the news.
 
I just saw a guy drive up on his motorcycle and take on the gym next to my apartment, in the middle of the night where no ones outside anymore. It's been going in a circle of Mystic, Valor, and Instinct all day.

I guess it helps that I lived next to a university so this place is always busy.
 
A girl I'm talking to has caught the bug, and apparently almost crashed her car last night while playing with a friend. The friend yelled to stop, and she made an abrupt turn.

I wish there was some way for people to report where they found a certain pokemon near your area. I live in Los Angeles and just one neighborhood over can completely change what pokemon you get. It'd be awesome if there was a way to check, for instance, if I go to the Arts District versus Little Tokyo, what type of pokemom are spawning.
 
Hit level 20 today. At a certain point, Pidgey ran away from me. I amassed so many Pidgey that I don't blame them.

I'm kinda bored of the game now since I don't see a lot of different pokemon. I might need to check out new locales or something.

What are folks doing at higher levels?

There is probably a Pokemon Go subreddit for LA county alone.

There is one for San Francisco at least.
 
As far as attacking is concerned, what Pokemon do you find to be less useful when it comes to gyms? I know you can win with any Pokemon if you dodge right, but let's act like that's not a factor for now.

What Pokemon generally tend to be just inherently weaker than others? Arbok? Primeape? Raticate? Marowak?
 
I rolled back to version 0.29.0, first release, on Android. It definitely has been running better. I'd wager that the looser location gathering is causing issues in the updated version
 
After a few days playing this game I'm left wondering what the Professor does with all our Pokemon after transferring. To evolve Pokemon, we are essentially melting other Pokemon of the same species down into candy and feeding it back to them, right? This is fucked up.

It's not been released in Thailand yet. All my friends are going nuts about it on Facebook.
Obviously other ways to get it, but it's not on the stores.
