Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

I actually sent that mail in regards to a couple of friends of mine who live in a town with a pop of 1500. There are no Pokestops or gyms there, and the closest Pokestop is in another town, a 10 minute drive away.

In my town, with a pop of 2500, there are 4 Pokestops and 2 gyms. Not bad, but the distance between the stops is on average half a mile, so it's still a problem for us.

Let's hope that Niantics will have the ability to take everybody suggestion asap.
But that was kind of you to mail Niantics for your friends.

2-3 would help but like I said, they're all 10 minute walks apart. And that's just where I'm at. The outskirts of town have none and are even further from stops. Honestly you could add 30-40 and it still wouldn't be anything close to pictures I've seen of NYC. It's pretty depressing when you walk 10 minutes to a stop and get a couple potions, a revive, and no pokeballs.

I meant 2-3 more, but yeah it would probably be best to create them in a cluster. Shopping area, park, public places where people go. Maybe try creating 10 in a reasonable cluster?

Edit: Well all the info is there to name your stop, coordinates etc. It's to request a stop, not a contact us page like the other guy here said. I haven't tried so I don't know what happens when you hit submit. I think it would be cool to have a cluster of pokestops in a small town that I can stop at and see some local places when I'm driving through. Stops shouldn't be prioritized by area population.

So, ive been all over Atlanta, and all i have seen are pidgeys, rattatas, and the occasional weedle/caterpie.

When do i actually see other things?

I am level 6.

I've noticed that as I've gotten higher in level I see new things around my home. Though still a ton of what you've listed.

I'm level 15, and pretty much done with the game. The only change is that those Rattata, Pidgey and Weedle are going to be more difficult to catch, so you'll waste more Pokeballs to catch the 300th Weedle.

On the positive side, the new Pokerap will be a lot easier.

I don't think they should introduce any daily oder other system that allows to get pokestop items outside of pokestops

moving around to visit pokestops and meet other players are a key factor of this games success.
sure, you catch pokemon on the way, but the route you take is from pokestop to pokestop or gym.

do not make them worth any less, don't hand out pokestop items outside of pokestops

the best solution to the problem in rural areas is set up a system that lets you create new pokestops easily and very quickly

Meeting other players isn't really a key factor at all. It's an added bonus but not a reason to hold back making the actual game playable for all.

If they are going to force me to walk 10 minutes to stops they should at least increase the amount of items given at stops in low populated areas. As I said before, when you have no pokeballs and you hit a stop and get healing shit it's depressing. If you're in the city you can walk for 10 seconds and find 2-3 more pokestops.

As far as creating new pokestops, there's not really that many landmarks in my town. Everything is pretty much taken already except for the businesses.

Ya I figured you meant 2-3 more just left out "more". 10 along main street would do wonders. Of course they're probably months away from implementing that, if ever, so most people around here will move on by then.

This drives me up the wall, because i then see people rolling around with Snorlax, Dragonite, Aerodactyl, Magmar, and other heavy hitters. Seriously what the crap is going on. I am NOT kidding when i say i have been all over atlanta.

I've encountered literally 2 Weedles and I'm level 15. One ran away. Seen others my nearby, but never found them.

I want your Weedles. :(

So unevolved Pokemon I haven't found once are:
Pikachu, Clefairy, Machop, Slowpoke, Seel, Grimer, Omanyte, Kabuto, Dratini.
Plus almost all the single stage ones (I have Pinsir and Kangaskahn).

Is that a pretty normal list?

In my area in Montreal, we're mostly getting Drowzees.

Good luck hahahaha. I was all over buckhead and found the same thing. Better pokes around my house in Lilburn. Better pokes will come with level, just stock up on pidgeys and the bugs

its not really determined by level more area where you are at try going to a golf course or a source of water youll get some different stuff

So just read a stat that 6.2% of Android devices in Canada already have the game installed.

It really sucks trying to be one of the ones to do this legitly, I feel like we are going to be at a massive disadvantage once it finally officially launches here.

Just release it already.

I know how you feel, as I think it's a load of shit. Especially when one of my friends was already able to get 130 and is setting shop to decimate the competition.

Eggs I guess. That and/or they have a lot of free time and the means to travel a lot.

If it was an option I'd gladly give you them. I've caught hundreds. Not even exaggerating.

Niantic either has to up the variety (above a certain level) or cycle between available Pokemon weekly if all they can do is 3 different ones at the time.
Honestly, I wonder how many people will be playing this in a month from now if this keeps being the case.

Even if they add trading it wouldn't fix the issue. Trading is fun, but wasn't this about going out and catching Pokemon?

I guess I'll never have to buy pokeballs with the amount of pokestops around here. I take a bus somewhere and there are dozens of them everywhere.

yeah then they should allow businesses as well
in my village restaurants and traffic signs are pokestops

and I absolutely believe that the community factor is a strong key factor that is making this game huge.

I understand players in rural areas are frustrated at the moment, but I just want them to have the same experience I have, it's awesome. just add more pokestops, fast.
free balls and stuff from home would be so lame and be against everything this game stands for.

So after thinking about it, I got concerned about the long-term viability of this game. Obviously, it's not going anywhere, but the game has a lot of issues, ones that may turn gamers off eventually if they continue. Obviously Niantic is working on fixes, but it turns to Nintendo to really oversee them and get them off the ground faster.

Remember when James Cameron said he was no longer in the filmmaking business, he's in the Avatar business? Here's my thoughts as of right now...until March 2017, Nintendo shouldn't be in the hardware business. They shouldn't be in the software business. They should be in the Pokémon Go business. Nintendo should put every resource they have not working on NX or NX games behind Go, making improvements, increasing functionality, and marketing the hell out of it. Nintendo has stumbled across its greatest accidental phenomenon since the Wii, and we all know how Nintendo handled that - just look at the state of its successor. Nintendo needs to strike while the iron is hot and their stock is still soaring.

I don't think I get the paw marks symbols of how close the pokemon is.

It can have no marks and appear right next to you.
Or you can be stood in the rustling grass and no pokemon will appear.

It doesn't make any sense to me.

Also how are people getting CP Levels in the thousands?

Finally held a gym and got rewards for it, still holding it almost 15 hours later.

Went outside the city limits to a historic house that's a gym for some reason instead of a poke stop.

Not many actually know about it so I'm curious how long it'll hold.

You have to understand that even if I go out and walk around my entire town I'm not going to be running into too many other people doing the same. Most of them are in cars wasting gas keeping to themselves. Even if they add stops it's not like there's some huge community here that's waiting to come outside and we're all going to be hanging out together. We just need stops so the game is playable without constantly driving to stops or buying pokeballs from the store.

I see doduos a lot but just caught my first dodrio. It has 668CP but I wasted like 25 great balls to get him. He did have a dark attack which was cool since I haven't seen that before. What is dark good against?

Anybody else seeing the server icon (top-left corner) constantly spinning? Wonder if it's even worth venturing out in this heat.

So I'm not sure this craze is going to hook me. I'm rural so can only play this in town and both stops I've passed I've been screwed out of by the servers being too slow, I'm out of range before it loads the graphic or even tells me what to do.

My experience has largely been watching it try to log in or watching an empty map. It doesn't seem to be a lot of fun, if any at all so far. I expected to be into this too.
