Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

Yeah, I took a light hike and was disappointed in the lack of pokestops, It would be really cool to see gyms at the top of 14'ers with stops along the way.

One randomly appeared during a lured pokestop. Wasn't even listed, he was just like, sup. I freaked out.

You aren't going to find a lot of hikes with tons of stops of gyms because of the rules around submitting points of interest in Ingress. Some peaks might have a gym/stop but you won't know which until you summit and reception up there may be BGAN only.
 
I can't log into my account on iphone :( it tells me to authorize my account, so i hit resend email. Then it tells me to log in. Then it tells me to log in again. Then it sends me back to the resend email for authorization screen.

Is this a common issue? Is it fixable? Or may I need to make a new account? :'(
 
How do you report a Gym location? The ONLY gym near me for miles is far enough from the sidewalk that I can't reach it without walking onto private property.

We were speeding through a highway (not me driving). A nidoking popped up. I only have 2 nidorans at lv 15 so seeing an nidoking all of a sudden got me excited. We were too fast so i couldn't click on it......

Saw a hitmonlee on my nearby list but couldnt search for it because we were driving.

Then saw a hitmonchan on my nearby list but couldnt search for it either

Used 5+ balls and berries on a cp10 pidgey


Hatched 2 10km eggs. First one was eevee. Second one was
another eevee

Parks around me are packed with stops and gyms. We have a gorge/valley area that is all parks/undeveloped land. Seems like any random post or info board can be a spot or gym. Meanwhile the developed part of my town of 60,000 (ie, downtown) has like one gym and two stops. Not even worth going into town for me. Parks and trail walking all day baby.

my brother and I walked two hours and never found a pokéstop. I caught an exeggcute, which I was missing, and we searched high and low for a Snorlax that simply vanished after a while. Not very productive. Hatched 6 eggs though.

Most of the points are all user submitted so you'll have areas where hardcore Ingress players cheesed the system by submitting questionable portals clustered together so they could farm gear easier. We have an area here that we call bench island; it's basically 60 portals that are all benches. I haven't been there for pokemon but I heard it's about 30 stops / 3 gyms now.

About a third to half of the ingress portals ended up turning into pokestops/gyms. If a lot of people didn't play in your area there won't be a ton of stops.
 
I just want to know how someone gets the idea that nicknaming his eevee after one of those 3 guys could possibly influence the evolution lol

It might be forgettable for you but there are some diehard fans that remember that type of stuff and try it. I wouldn't think or know to try that stuff either tho lol. I barely remember season one.

Good point. I was watching the Squirtle Squad episode last night and barely remembered any of it. I haven't watched season one since I was a kid. :\

For just about everything out there, there will always be a group of people who become dedicated to knowing everything about it and spreading the word. The game hints there is a trick, it was bound to get figured out.

Honestly, it's no further reaching than some of the other theories that were spinning around regarding Eevee's evolution. (Move based, closest gym color, etc.)

Honestly, it's a really cool easter egg/throwback.

Yooo, 410 Growlithe just popped in my place out of nowhere. Never seen one around here before.

As of now you only really need to get to level 20 or so. Its essentially a soft cap. And the CP of the Pokemon you get then will be more than enough to be competitive for gyms.
 
So is there some glitch right now were everything is 3 steps away? Was out tonight and I didn't see anything less than 3 steps, but things were showing up. Made it hard to look for rarer guys.
