Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

Have they just increased the capture difficulty? My pokeball just flying all over the place tonight and when they do hit, the creature just popped out again even though I already give them Razz Berry. Granted they are 200+cp but I never had a problem capturing them with normal Pokeball + Razz Berry prior to tonight.

Feels like it. As got to higher levels, my catch rate has plummeted and I waste a bunch of pokeballs. I see a neat new pokemon around and it keeps hopping out until I either give up or it runs off. I wasted 30 pokeballs and berries on a wartortle the other night and it just ran off laughing.

Frustrating and I don't even try if they're above 300 now. I mean, I'm level 17. Am I doing something wrong?

Great balls change the throwing circle a lighter shade, same with Razz berries I believe. Which does correlate with a greater catch rate.

I just found an Eevee where her circle turned from dark orange to yellow when I switched to great balls.

its not out here officially here in canada but i downloaded it anyways, got my starter pokemon and used some lure, pretty cool so far. Any other Canadians here playing in Ontario? busy areas?

So you got an Eevee, but you want a specific evolution for it? Well, apparently it's quite easy to do! The Pokemon GO hivemind over at Reddit says they've figured out a way to make sure you get the evolution you're gunning for. All you have to do is give your Eevee one of these nicknames.
Sparky = Jolteon
Rainer = Vaporeon
Pyro = Flareon
Why do those nicknames bring about those evolutions? Turns out it's a nod to the Pokemon anime, where the Eevee Bros. were named Sparky, Rainer and Pyro. Now can anyone confirm this?!

Is that true?

Just seems fuxked at the moment. Gone for a walk withe family but the app keeps freezing and pokestops aren't appearing on some of our phones.

Man it takes forever to level up from lvl 8. I caught 1 new Pokemon today and evolved one into 1 new Pokemon I didn't have. And I keep catching the regular Pokemon to transfer and power up to gain XP but it takes a long while. Also my 2km egg gave me a Magikarp, fuck that. Now I'm waiting for my 5km and 10km eggs to crack.

And now the servers are down here.

I believe when a Pokemon is caught, it's removed from the servers, but because the servers update every few minutes rather than in real time, others can catch it if they're quick enough.

Nope, everyone can catch it. My family and I were out hunting yesterday, and every Pokemon that popped, we were all able to catch it.

So I have been all out in the water with incense on me, and not a single Pokemon turned up. How disappointing.

Throw [QUOTE] tags around big images. And also... incest is [B]not[/B] the word you're looking for.

Ok so I need a bag upgrade but I ain't spending no dollas. I'm gonna take a gym everyday and get 10 coins so that means I'll get 200 coins in a month lol.

Server died?

thanks bro. that's really rad if so.

on another note, unsure if this Vaporeon stampede in central park was posted, but it's pretty crazy....

Kind of reminded me of a similar event where my friend (and his group of friends) went to the Santa Monica Pier to get some new pocket monsters, and it was so crowded, there were fire trucks to come by to make sure the structure didn't collapse from the weight of the people rushing around finding that elusive Dragonite.

I have no idea where to get new Pokemon. I have seen 5-6 silhouettes who I don't have but all with three steps, probably because of that glitch. And now the servers died while I'm out in the rain finding Pokemon all wet.

Yea, I came to post the same thing. Seems like I've had a lower capture rate using a Great Ball and Razz berry compared to a standard Poke Ball.

I thought I was imagining thing. But the level of poke balls gone haywire was just insanely staggering tonight. It's really annoying. Don't be greedy Niantic. You'll get a lot more longevity if you're not trying to frustrate players.

It's all coming together for me now! Caught a venusaur while drinking last night, and jacked him up to a bit over 1000. Have a Golduck and Pinsar not far behind. I got my first gym coins, and all three of the gyms in walking distance from my place are currently occupied by the winning team (yellow, you fools!). Let's see how long they last...

This game is bad right? I've spent two days with it and can't figure out what's interesting.

The interest in this game is about equal to the amount you spend playing Pokemon games in the past. Do this interest times 2 if you don't play a lot of other games or times 0.25 if you found the RPG and battle mechanics the best thing about Pokemon.

So here I am, lying in my bed at the very edge of a restful sleep, when I decide, "Hey, let's see if there are any Pokemon nearby before nodding off." So I open the app and what do I see? Fucking Dragonite. Just chilling in my territory.

I jump out of bed. Put on clothes. Excitedly point it out to my roommate. Buy Pokeballs because I'm not letting Dragonite get away over a few microtransactions. Step outside and instantly a guy pulls up and asks, "Where is this fucking Dragonite?" I tell him that's what I'm wondering.

And that's when I see it. Whirling like a hurricane on Saturn. The great white Pokeball. Spinning with devilish glee as it informed me of an imminent server failure. I restart my phone in a vain attempt to forestall the inevitable. No luck. I still get the white spinny bastard. I close the app. Now I can't even log in. My roommate gets kicked. The guy in the car can't connect. We are all bound together by unfathomable sorrow.

This life has no meaning.

as close as it gets to living your childhood dreams of catching Pokemon. Appeals to collectors and adds a social dynamic to the game that everyone can enjoy. But if you don't like Pokemon like that or collecting or going outside then yeah it's not the best game lol.

Its actually really boring, but feeds greatly off the social aspect of Pokemon gathering.

Have you taken down a gym with friends or met some new people tackling the same lure spot you are? That's where I got something out of it (for the time being).

Don't expect to play smoothly today or in the next 3 days (or even this week) because the game just launched in 26 countries at once:

Pretty dumb.

They haven't fixed the servers and even turned things off to help. The map location picture for each captured pokemon is off and the location radar is broken. Still getting lockups after catching Pokemons.

they definitely need to make the "locator" part better...got a pikachu "3 steps away",but no matter in what direction i went,there was no change..he was still 3 steps away and in the same position compared to the other nearby,in the end i just gave up

Sometimes the locator glitches like other aspects of the app. If you restart the app,you'll notice that it'll update properly. I had this happen with an Abra the other day.I restarted it, and the Abra was actually not nearby at all (it wasn't on the list). Personally, I've only experienced this glitch once.
