TBH I'm glad someone whose PR team makes her out to be a goody two-shoe gets called out for slandering (for her own benefit) a black artist as being a sexist for his lyrics when she was aware of said lyrics, and gave her blessing

she went on the grammy stage and said kanye was taking credit for her success which she new was bullshit but she did if for her own sake
 
As someone who hasn't been following pop/rap culture, what's with Kanye's beef with Taylor Swift? Seems like every few years I see headlines about him dragging her into some kind of shit.

What's his excuse for calling her a bitch?

Oh man, Kim and Kanye really know how to drag out a controversy for publicity. I think it's clear that Kanye did in fact call Taylor Swift about the lyrics and that she understood both the reference to them possibly having sex and the line about fame. She's on video expressing her support for the lyrics and thanking him for calling her first. I don't know what she said or denied initially but now she claims its all down to the word bitch. I think the more likely case is that she and her team felt that the song would damage her image and her approval of the lyrics/general idea would alienate her fans. So she's been in damage control since the song was released. Is that the gist of it?

Maybe. It would make sense, Taylor has to be willingly ignorant of hip-hop culture to try and get offended about the word "bitch," and we know she's not according to what we know she listens to (she even posted a video of her partying to All Day amidst all the Famous controversy)
