MMA fighter Michael Page knocks out opponent, throws pokeball at him.

These two guys willingly fought. They signed contracts and everything. They know shit like this can happen.

What's the problem? If you think it's gross, don't watch it.

xsive is obviously some type of shitty troll.

Quite disrespectful after a fight. But hey if the organisation makes a promoting thing out of it then it is condoned, right?

I guess this thread is easy to find which ones are the teabaggers in Halo, lol.

;)

You can keep your comments about my preferred bloodsport in your pocket because guess what bucko it's safe!

I am not against MMA at all. I used to watch it a lot in the past, and a friend from my home state was Reality Fighting Champion and training with Gabriel Gonzaga after facing him a few years ago. If people want to beat the shit out of one another, with the potential to really hurt themselves, that is their business and should be their choice.

But hard to take the safe at face value, when there is a pic of a dudes skull caved in, that potentially could have resulted in death. Come on, lol.

Seeing justifications like this is sickening. UFC / MMA is horrible gladiatorial bloodsport and needs to go the fuck away.
This is terrible, a terrible thing to say. There are years of technique and skill involved, it's a human chess match. Sounds like you don't understand it at all.

EDIT: didn't realize it was a joke poster, nvm.

Goddamn...He literally has a dent in his head...WOW.

BTW it was totally a disgustingly asshole-ish move. Imagine if Santos had died right there, or received brain damage, the reaction would be brutally different.

This guy is out here styling like king of the hill, while hiding in a league with soft competition. But that's a discussion for another day, in another thread.

I was impartial to MMA until Jon Jones came into the 'sport' and I realized how bad the organization was when he used elbows liberally against his opponents. His fight style was basically going out in the ring to permanently damage his opponents by kicking their knees in the opposite direction and elbowing their faces in.

This injury from Page right here I don't consider as dirty as some of the stuff Jones has done in the past.

Would UFC really be so unappealing if there wasn't any elbows and knees allowed? I don't think it would be any different honestly but imo it'd be much safer.

You forgot the famous Jon Jones eye poke. He's also trying to make his opponents blind.

So are knee strikes illegal or what?

EDIT: Glad dude is okay. Had no idea his skull got caved in. Honestly, I would probably quit after taking a shot like that.

They probably haven't been out of the house.

Is he a doctor? Did he magically know that he'd caused a skull fracture? Come on now.

Bellator boss confirms promotion to handle 'Cyborg' medical bills, will pay 'win' bonus, as well

“I’ve been a huge fan of ‘Cyborg’ throughout the many years that he has fought for us,” Coker stated to MMAjunkie. “The guy brings it every single time out, and that’s all you can ask for from a fighter. That being said, you never want to see a fighter sustain an injury like that.

“Bellator representatives have been present with him at the hospital throughout this process, and we are taking care of any medical bills that he incurs. In addition, we are going to go ahead and pay ‘Cyborg’ his win bonus to help him find a little extra comfort throughout his recovery process, which we hope is a speedy one.”

Oh boy, that broken skull. The taunt suddenly doesn't seem that funny anymore. But good on them for handling his medical bills and even giving him the win bonus

50 people are killed by lighting strikes every year.

Never go outside. Ever.

isnt this more like walking outside during a storm? not sure how that would equate to never going outside. lol
entering ufc you have to be prepared for a potential savage beatdown so I cant really feel too sorry for the guy with the cracked skull

You don't style on a severely KO'd opponent.

The Pokeball shit is really disrespectful. Hope the guy recovers swiftly. Is he gonna retire?

That spot it always going to have compromised structural integrity. I doubt he'll ever pass a physical again in his life.

Career as a fighter is 100% over.

I don't have a problem with MMA or any other fighting events, I just think that was poor sportsmanship. Dude got his head beat in and Page is acting like this is the WWE.

Edit: Not that he would know that his opponents head would be smashed in, but you still probably shouldn't treat a victory like it's an endzone celebration. Any other sport you'd be DQ'd for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Paying Cyborg his win bonus is ridiculous. He didn't win the fight!

I think it's more a sign of good faith towards someone who's made the company a lot of money and will likely never fight again.

If the message the Belator has is "if you get hurt, fuck off, we don't want you here" they're going to lose people to other organizations.

Not really. Football and Basketball maybe but...most others you can have a little popoff. The problem is when it's so clearly orchestrated before the match to the point where it starts seemingly the beginning of baseketball.
