Amazing. I fully acknowledge how stupid all of this is, but it's so entertaining that I don't care.

I'm sure Kanye will survive. He outlived TLOP, somehow.

Bro, you got problems. You gotta have a problem to stan so fucking hard.

And before you ask, or think, or whatever: I don't care about (or even like their music at all) Kanye or Taylor or whoever. Just calling it how I see it.

The song Swift ghostwrote for her ex Calvin outpaces Kanye's entire catalogue and that's before anyone even knew it was her.

That's just me though.

Wow. LOL. The stan is real.

I'm not too in the know but in the video the line that Kanye tells her isn't the same as the final verse and also doesn't include "bitch." Now obviously Taylor was lying about having no knowledge of the verse in general, but is she being honest about not knowing about being called a bitch and that is why she got mad about it?

She could be telling the truth about not knowing about the inclusion of the word bitch. The problem is that initially she objected to the phrase "made that bitch famous". At the Grammy's she took a dig at Kanye during her acceptance speech. Her comments referred to having people take credit for accomplishments (the line, "made her famous"). Her initial claim was more about Kanye taking credit for her fame and less about the inclusion of the word bitch. The video posted by Kim shows that Taylor gave her approval to Kanye, and she also references the line "made her famous".

Now, some people are stating that it was a coincidence that she said "made her famous" during the phone call and that she was referring to the VMA incident in 2009. It's very thin, but of course it's possible. Kanye had also previously claimed that Taylor gave him the idea for the line, so in this narrative Kanye takes the line "made her famous" from Taylor and the song transforms from the working title "Nina Chop" into the "Famous" that was released. It's a stretch though.

I do think it's telling that Taylor's statement tonight is all about "that bitch" instead of "made that bitch famous". If she had stuck to that from the beginning of this whole thing, her argument would hold more weight.

There are also claims that Taylor heard the song before it was released, but outside of a few statements from others, there isn't enough proof to back that up.

What we do know is that Taylor and her PR team have been caught lying about several details of the incident. She might not have known about the line "that bitch", but that's not all that this was about.

To the posters that are going around in circles trying to defend this, it's OK to take the L on this. Most of the people you are arguing against are Kanye West fans, we know all about the L's.

Right. Taylor is trying to shift the conversation to being about "I made that bitch famous" when a) she lied about there not being a phone call at all already anyways and b) we know for a fact that in her personal AND BUSINESS lives that she regularly listens to music with more offensive lines than that.

kanye being so outwardly nice and sincere on that phone call is the perfect ending to this.

Why are you even still trolling? it's getting pretty pathetic

Before I arrived this thread was 5 pages of gleeful shade-throwing full of terminable gifs and shaming, and then someone comes in with a differing opinion and I'm trolling? Come on. I'm playing in the same sandpit here.

What you're doing can't be called having an opinion.

You have to acknowledge facts to have an opinion.

Is there an entire continuous video of the phone call? Hard to tell much with it all in 3 second out of context snippets.

I feel like both kanye and Taylor are making money off of this fake controversy. Playing y'all like a damn fiddle.

I like both Kanye and Swift. They're both excellent artists.

Even if Swift's public image is carefully constructed and false, this whole business just seems so petty. A lot of massive egos in the music industry that really could do with getting over themselves.
