Taylor Swift is obsessive pop music fans' Moby Dick, Chapter 42.

It was the whiteness of the whale that above all things appalled me...

...Or is it, that as in essence whiteness is not so much a color as the visible absence of color; and at the same time the concrete of all colors; is it for these reasons that there is such a dumb blankness, full of meaning, in a wide landscape of snows- a colorless, all-color of atheism from which we shrink?

Probably the most trivial use of this chapter in recorded history. A proud moment for me indeed.

Don't forget, Taylor is the media's golden child for pop music and Kim K / Kanye are often used as talking points for the downfall of society as a whole.

Yeah and I mean 30 million is a lot for a year in which he didn't drop an album/tour. Drake only made 39.5 million last year and he actually released an album. Rappers don't make pop star money unless they have very lucrative business ventures like Jay and Diddy or Dre recently with the Apple deal. Maybe the new Adidas deal will prove to be that for him. It supposedly has billion dollar potential.

Or the albums were bad and people didn't like them.

Not really. The two albums he's probably talking about are 808s & Heartbreak and Yeezus. Yeezus was voted album of the year in 2013 on metacritic. 808s had mixed reception at first, but is now recognized as one of the most influential records of the past couple decades. It's more to do with them being so far removed from the more traditional 'Kanye' sound. (e.g. The College Dropout, Late Registration)

So Taylor uses the word herself as an endearing term, listens to rap music and we're supposed to believe that the use of 'bitch' is what made her completely switch up on a a 'friend'. Yeah, okay lol

While I think kanye's in the right here I feel like the first part of this argument comes uncomfortably close to the white people "why is it racist for me to say ni**er when they call themselves niggas all the time?" concern troll.

Metacritic doesn't matter overall. This industry is about fame and money. Taylor has more than Kim and (lol) and Kanye combined. This is why this simpleton stunt failed. Y'all clearly don't seem to understand what this trio really wants.

I didn't say it made it okay, it's just another nugget that casts more doubt on her new pr line. She uses it casually herself, she's been seen listening and dancing to songs that use the word and understands it's usage in the genre. She's even been in commercials with songs that use the word. She was okay with the line about fucking her and okay with saying he made her famous. She was supposed to be in on the whole thing being a joke on the media. It just doesn't make sense that this would cause such a change up. Taylor will do anything to play the victim role brehs

And yet Kanye has creative control/produces his music while Taylor relies on a pop factory of producers like Max Martin/Ryan Tedder to curate songs for her.

Not a fan of Taylor but check the liner notes: Kanye has a factory of producers to curate songs for him as well.

Kanyes has a lot of contributors but its undeniable that he is the visionary for his albums. Every one of his albums is unique and has a distinct sound for its time. Only one artist in here is considered to have revolutionized a genre with each album, and that's not Taylor.

You know the artistic merit of the artist you're currently worshipping is problematic when you actually resort to bringing up sales and friggin' Instagram followers as some brilliant coup, as if it's argument worth having among supposed adults.

Wonder what state he called from and if they mentioned it was being recorded? It's still illegal in some states to record without consent.

Ooops. Didn't see there were other articles about that.

Totally. 100%. Like, what other metrics actually matter in an industry that exists on sales and fame?

No one who knows anything about music gives a damn about any of that. That has nothing to do with the quality of music. If that was the case, Diddy would be an all time great. Kanye will be remembered as the better artist. Pretty much any respectable music publication would agree. Taylor's dropped nothing but mediocre pop records.

And I don't see how the stunt has failed it's just good publicity for Ye/Kim. It won't do much to Taylor's fanbase, but she probably won't be as popular with her peers and the media. I think it's pretty telling that several individuals that were previously friendly with Taylor have seemingly taken Kim/Ye's side. Hell, no one from her "squad" has even commented on the situation other than Selena.

I think her quality of songs are amazing. You have your opinion and I have mine.

No one's backing away from Taylor because she has money and influence, something this industry craves.

Taylor won.

Not that I've for a horse in this race and I only read the last two pages out of curiosity, but I need to know: Is Subpar a joke poster or is he for real?

All these pages later and so am I. I mean this is about Kanye using a line about Swift in a song? Don't people have better things to worry about?
The average person isn't that interesting and eventually their life devolves into arguing over this drivel. Same reason people watch reality TV and all those gossip shows.

Is this real...... if so i'm dying

I got grudge sucked!
Lawyers send C&Ds for their clients all the time. Hers probably send dozens a day just to YouTube. Taylor probably doesn't even know about the mural or the takedown notice.

Didn't they shut down that bad lip reading of one of her songs? She may not be aware but someone on her staff is super uptight.

Critical success? Not everyone is in it primarily for money, and considering how austere Yeezus was and how Kanye landed himself in debt, he clearly isn't in it just for the money.

Taylor Swift is a product you're buying, Kanye West is a creator of popular art. Yes, Taylor has made it clear she's vapid and willing to step on people to advance her career, but that doesn't mean anyone else has gotta be like that.

Kanye is not after money? Why he begging for cash from billionaires?!

I think you missed why he was talking about getting money from billionaires to begin with. No need to be so vehemently against him
and his wife because they made your favourite pop star look bad. She lied, and understandably they wanted to make her look bad after she shat on him at The Grammys. Seems fair to me, especially with all the (mostly undeserved) shit Kanye gets.

That's just sad to think like that, though. It's really not all that matters.

I find Taylor amazing. She's an amazing artist. You can feel differently. You have all your greatest hits because this is what matters. Taylor and Kanye would never exist in this capacity without the industry. It's the only thing that matters.

No need to talk to them anymore. They've been outed as awful trolls.

Subpar Poster just makes up numbers and ignores anything outside of his narrative.

Bunny is Taylor's brother and an Eminem fan.

Four days now? Where's that link to the video?

Also, who is Taylor Smith?

You know he sells plain white t-shirts for $120 right? Are we talking about the same Kanye West? Pls confirm.

Taylor Swift garners critical success and boatloads of money. Kayne would be doing well to match one of those. Sadly he's failing at both.

honest question: what does taylor influence? besides business deals

because outside of albums, i don't know shit about her

In Australia, Kanye West could walk down the street and nobody would bat an eyelid..

Everytime Tay comes to Aus it's fucking pandemonium. She's here now and its leading news bulletins on the eastern seaboard. Her brand is off-tap.

See, this person's posts are the kind I find most entertaining out of this whole thing.
I mean look back through this thread.
It is like they caught their SO fapping to TSwift or something.
I mean there is genuine salt and nastiness here.
It is fascinating.

Yep. Of all the empties in this thread, he is by far the emptiest.
