It has nothing to do with sales, I have no interest in a sales discussion. I was saying how despite a history in the previous generation of Sega skipping the games with their most effort on Nintendo consoles, it hasn't been the case for this generation (half decade).

Yeah.

There are plenty of games that I won't be surprised to see skip NX, but if any third party title is coming to that platform, it's this one.

Fucking LOVE it. I hope we get a 60fps trailer soon, I wanna see that fluid animation! You miss so much of it when you see just the ball part of the spinning animation.

You know what'd be amazing, if this game got Steam Workshop support for custom levels people can upload, increase dat replayability there.

Yeah.

Yeah, no. Don't expect this or the next 3D Sonic game to be on Nintendo's consoles. Sega was sabotaging Sonic's image on the Nintendo consoles since Lost World.

I just let it set in that it's for Spring 2017.

That's a long time away which sucks... but it tells me it's a full product.

this and Freedom Planet 2 both coming next year is nuts. So excited.

certainly possible considering they just released workshop support for all the Genesis classics

This is like a sonic fan's wet dream in trailer form. Taxman's working on it so you know the physics are gonna be just right.

Gibe nao!

More than anything I'm impressed by the animation and pixel art in this. Holy shit. Looks amazing. And so fluid!
I'm not even a Sonic fan, but this is exactly what I look for in a good Sonic game. The animation makes me happy. Good animation in all pixel games makes me happy when done well.

What they need to do: Cartridge (or at least ROM) release of Sonic Mania that runs on the original MD/Genesis hardware.
Hm. Not speculating, but is the opening frame from that (presumed) title screen a nod to the MD/Genesis 1 power light?

Better make that a 32X cartridge because Sonic Mania looks like a long lost 32-bit game.
lol, for all 20 people who bought one?

Ok, you're not really thinking rationally right now.
Honestly, the last couple of years have been rough for the Sonic franchise. Both Lost World and Sonic Boom have received a lot of negative reactions. Distancing future Sonic games from any hint of Nintendo exclusivity will only help to repair the damage wrought and restore the reputation of Sega as whole.

not a fan. was never too into 2D sonic and the classic sonic levels were the ones i wasn't too big on in generations. its animated really good, i guess. I'll probably purchase it when its really cheap, maybe.
