Racism sells. It's the same reason Putin and friends love to fund the far-right in Europe too.
They are beyond ignorant to reality at the very least.
People have become so obsessed with partisan politics, so invested in the idea that their side is the right side, that they can't let themselves think about anything that's not right with their side because it will challenge their entire "red vs blue" world view. It's easier to go "la la la can't hear you la la la libruls!" than to stop and think for once.
That, and racism and general bigotry is a distressingly powerful motivator.
Conservatives are great at getting their supporters to vote against their own self-interests.
I know this, it's just so...distressing and disturbing. Their man isnt even his own master, he seemingly has someone else at the helm. They're all jokes. They've become so invested in his demagoguery that they don't care about anything he does. Trump has done so many things that would've fucking sunk literally any other candidate in the last decade immediately but he keeps getting a pass because of how well he exploited the tea partier mindset.
Putin is such scum, but hopefully he'll fail miserably here come this election.People need to understand that there's almost no far-right politician in the western World who's not backed by Putin. Trump is just the last one of a long list.
There's a global far-right insurgency around the World and Vladimir Putin is the puppet master.
I don't think even he's dumb enough to have foreign money donating directly, but we've already seen him fudge the rules with his own money when it came to campaign finance.
There's not fucking way that the NSA, CIA nor the FBI don't know about this.
You have to imagine every news organization is doing to dig DEEP on this.
Except the American news media are generally incompetent asses. They've done more for the Trump campaign then he ever could have asked for.
If this is even remotely true, and some of it demonstrably is (his weird position on Ukraine specifically, I assumed was because he might want to import future brides from there) then I don't know who could openly support this guy and still have any semblance of an IQ.
They are not incompetent. They just mostly go after ratings and scandal. This could be a huge scandal

Since the 1980s, Trump and his family members have made numerous trips to Moscow in search of business opportunities, and they have relied on Russian investors to buy their properties around the world.
Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets, Trumps son, Donald Jr., told a real estate conference in 2008, according to an account posted on the website of eTurboNews, a trade publication. We see a lot of money pouring in from Russia.
To put this all into perspective, if Vladimir Putin were simply the CEO of a major American corporation and there was this much money flowing in Trump's direction, combined with this much solicitousness of Putin's policy agenda, it would set off alarm bells galore. That is not hyperbole or exaggeration. And yet Putin is not the CEO of an American corporation.
What if Donald Trump's entire campaign was started by deep cover Russian spies?
Yeah, he's not CEO of a major American corporation. He's the leader of country with 143 million inhabitants. To trace everything related to Russia back to him is some Alex Jones-level conspiracy bullshit. If you guys want to sink to that level, fine.
Only problem is there's no real evidence. The following is presented as a smoking gun:
But really, no shit. Anyone involved in prime real estate is going to have dealings with Russian investors. Look how dominant they've been in the London market.
Paul Manafort has advised the campaigns of Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush, Bob Dole, George W. Bush, and John McCain. That he spent "most of the last decade" as top campaign and communications advisor for Viktor Yanukovych seems a misrepresentation. He worked as a consultant for him, most recently on his 2010 campaign. Like he worked as a consultant for all those Republican presidential candidates.
As for Carter Page, he seems pretty qualified for his role.

I would call his comments on NATO and change of Republican Party's stance on Ukraine (pushed by Trump) very real evidence. Both came out of nowhere. Definitely enough to get me scared.
Yeah, those two aspects are the ones that tip this over into unsettling territory. The rest makes sense just as a consequence of his business dealings and bankruptcies, but those two are genuinely weird as heck.

It's not in the media spotlight. Could always try tweeting at him about it till he responds. Or start a hashtag.
This? There's actually a conspiracy theory on the Right that some Russian company donated $150 million to the Clinton Foundation after Hillary (when she was SoS) approved them buying a US company that produces Uranium in a kind of pay for play deal. Of course it's bunch of garbage. But it makes sense in that Republicans are the masters of projection.
But no, I don't think Trump would leak intelligence to Russia or ask them for money directly.
