The cartridges are the most normal thing. Even Vita uses them.Welp, I wanted to be interested but nope. Cartridges sound like a total gimmick.
Ever since they showed BOTW's control scheme and presented it this way I thought the two sides of the gamepad were showing how the NX controllers would be, and it looks like two nunchuck-ish attachments. Probably the ones that snap onto the screen. Heh.

I'm actually curious if the tie-in with NVIDIA is more than just chip supplier? Maybe they can get their Shield marketplace on there or something?
Nvidia screwed Microsoft in the original Xbox, Screwed Sony with PS3 GPU and now it's nintendo turn.
I swear Nintendo is like the most out of touch company in history, how hard can it be to produce a system that is plenty powerful (ensure 3rd party ports) plus having Nintendo priceless IPs. its not that hard nor that expensive BUT no...lets seek an already shrinking market (handhelds) and get some of that PHONE marketshare, guess what.... people buy smartphones to make calls first, browse internet second ...and maybe game on it third. NX is not a phone, won't sell like a phone and won't sell to hardcore either.
And in a few years we will have a post mortem on why NX failed, and we will hear that someone at Nintendo said that NX should sell a billion units like iphone 7 or whatever.
This is basically made specifically for Japan, isn't it?
Yeah, but I can't play Zelda or Mario on them.
Same argument that the Vita had. That didn't turn out so well.
We just got an announcement of one
Either way, in a world that is increasingly digital, these just seem cumbersome and unnecessary.Cartridges can be massive nowadays thanks to die shrinking.
And if it's truly a hybrid, they're needed. BD drives are a massive power drain.
I'm calling bullshit on this. If the main console comes with a touchscreen, then why did Breath of the Wild's touchscreen features get gimped? And what about this concept will bring the casuals back enough to get publishers like Ubisoft excited to dump their Just Dance type games on it?
so somewhat like this then I guess.

Nintendo understand where they stand in the console space
As I have a PS4, this won't be troublesome for me
Probaby 60$ because basically you getting 2 games in 1. Its not like buying Monster Hunter on Wii U and 3DS thats $90!I wonder what this means for handheld game prices. I doubt BotW is going to be $40 on the NX and $60 on the Wii U.
My guess is RIP $40 games.

Please don't call it Wii-something or they will kill the thing before being born
This shit will bomb so hard if it's more than 150€ lmao. Parents will never buy a portable console for kids if it's more than that, and the Nintendo fanbase is too small to sustain it. Shit, 3DS+WiiU was not enough to sustain Nintendo, they had to start putting out more stuff like amiibos.
Meh. If I wanted a handheld I'd fucking buy one. It's disappointing that we're going to get a gimped console so that it can double as a handheld. Many, many consumers, myself included, don't want a handheld. We want a full fledged console. Why force the consumer to buy both? Especially when it means gimping the home console with mobile hardware.

They have guaranteed they will never get them now.

Every game on a Nintendo system is a major title! And since the WiiU gets about one game a month, this is totally accurate!
Lol if its gonna be like a Surface book which is over £1000. Dream on fellaYou must dont know what a surface book. Poor baby
And if you dont know anything then...🤐
