Just got home a bit ago.

Eric Holder's message so far is great. There is no conflict of interest between BLM and the police. I feel like he comes off as a big nerd though :P

We will never know how many died. Having visited Tiananmen Square as a child not long before the massacre happened and then seeing tanks run over people where I stood changed my life and view of protests forever.

Fuck this kind of shit. How any American can be ok with this is beyond me. We are built upon protest.

What's disheartening in the most, is that most of the people of china dont even remember the massacre and the generation after will probably never learn of it's own governments crimes. It's not in their history books, you cant look it up even on the internet. It has been successfully erased within their country.
 
After seeing the RNC, me and my family were both disgusted and terrified. I was depressed and scared while my mother and her family were having panic attacks over Trump's speech as it reminded them of Estado Novo and Antonio Salazar.

After seeing just two days of the DNC, I feel better. Looking at the crowd, the speakers. Seeing the great diversity in class, race, sexuality, ability, and so much more, made me want this America. I see a future where I can live in peace and acceptance, equal to those around me despite being trans, and it makes me want to continue fighting to reach that point. I've yet to call my own mother to see what she thought about yesterday and today, but I bet she's calmed down and feels hope.

Last week I felt terror and depression, but this week I feel hope and compassion. I don't feel fear, I feel love and the urge to stand and fight.
 
I hope people in here are spreading those Reddit Trump posts, though most of his supporters are dense and clearly not the brightest of people, help get that shit out there.

I don't think reminding everyone of a mind-blowing number of bankruptcies, failed business, thievery and dependence of Russian money would make for ideal convention fodder.

Yeah, that's just 100% not true.
Like, I don't know what people out in the countryside know or think about such things, but people in the cities know about it for sure. They might have a bit of a skew view on that, but it was not erased from memory.
