Trump's ties to Putin and other Russian Oligarchs

While it shouldn't be relieving to know that the son of a major Republican politician (or any politician for that matter) controls the voting machines, I guess in this case I'll take what I can get.
It sucks but he couldn't help his dad win, so I guess it's proof that he's either really bad at cheating or it's harder to influence elections that way than we thought (there's also the possibility that he just has integrity but that's not fun).

But it's baffling that he still has so much support even after so many scandals that would have sunk any other candidates.

It's really not at all when you look at his campaign approach. As someone else has stated he deflects every criticism that comes his way. Nothing has been able to penetrate his approach up until this point. You simply cannot fight him with "Yeah, well he lied".

He's also really good, extremely good, at pandering to the crowds he's in front of.

Why in the fuck would you think that these two instances are even remotely comparable?

One is an opinion piece in a newspaper and the other was an illegal hacking attack by another government.

Fucking think before you post.

It was not just an opinion piece, it was a campaign to get people to write to Americans to convince them to vote for a candidate. And suggesting ways for people to send money to organizations that will influence the election for Kerry.

Newspaper. Russian government.

Call to action from the public. Illegal hackings and shady funding.

Public action. Being denied.

Has nothing to do with the candidate. Candidate actually chances planned policy in favor of influencer.

See the differences?

Okay, I re-watched that part of the video several times, and while he does not directly ask for them to hack, by asking them to find the 30k emails, is that enough to suggest that he committed treason and called on a foreign entity to hack an official's server?

Or is this an overreaction at the moment and is treason completely out of the question?

I hope it's the former.

By itself this isn't treason. There would need to be some kind of quid pro quo where Trump promises to let Putin invade the Baltics or something. It is a Presidential candidate publicly flirting with a hostile foreign power. Maybe people shouldn't vote for that?

He says he "hopes" they do, rather than directly asking them to, but the message is clearly given, that he's ok and even glad for foreign powers to hack American intelligence if it benefits him in any way.

I have to say, Trump clearly wants to make Russia great again and bring down the USA big style, this is becoming clearer as each day goes by.

You people would be raking Clinton over the coals if this was found out about her. Don't lie or pretend otherwise. But since it's Trump, foreign governments directly influencing elections is not that bad. Jesus...
