I couldn't hear it -- the people on the CBSN stream also couldn't make out if anything happened. Maybe they moved the mics.

Heard it on CNN fairly loud and they're reporting it too so it wasn't my imagination. Apparently they want to roll call Kaine's nomination.

A lot of those idiots taped up their face/covered their mouth with Bernie stickers, so we probably won't hear much.

"DNC IS SILENCING ME!!!"

Umm.. they let you constantly interrupt speeches and allowed you to protest. How are they silencing you?

"RIGGED, ESTABLISHMENT, RAHH!!"

I wonder if Bernie is embarrassed by how childish some of his delegates have been. I'm glad he did the right thing yesterday. I know that these people are only a vocal minority and hardly the makeup of his supporters. It's just so frustrating.

I gotta say, these conventions are far too long and repetitive. They could easily be two days with all the key speakers split between the two.

So how long ago did this start? And when do Kaine, Obama and Biden speak?
Asking cause I have plans around 6:30 central til maybe like 9 or so.

They're speaking in primetime. Their speeches might begin around 9pm EST, give or take. You might miss a bit.

But then you would have people like Biden on when most voters are at work or driving home. All the main speakers are late at night. If the second-tier doesn't interest you, just watch then.

He is. He's been begging them to behave. They don't represent him. They don't even like him anymore. They don't represent his movement. They're the tiniest fraction of Bernie voters. And they're not even progressive.

I kinda disagree. 4 days is about as condensed as I'd do. We've got like 3 big speakers every night, at least. If we stacked more of them, then some of these would get skipped.

Conventions are about a lot more than speakers -- there's a lot of behind-the-scenes work that goes down every day, like national party coordination efforts, voting on platforms and other shit. It's the only time you can reasonably get thousands of party activists from every corner of the country together so it takes a few days to get business taken care of.

Aside from the acceptance speech the rest of the speeches don't really serve any party function besides hype for the die-hards and branding for the general public, which is understandably what most ITT care about.

She was supposed to take down the Confederate flag over Arkansas in the 80s? Ok, and then two years later a Republican would have won in a landslide running on a platform of putting it back.
Just want to say that happening in the 80's is pretty believable for me, considering that my state's 2002 governor's race had a candidate run campaign in part on bringing back the Confederate Flag as part of the state flag.

He won

I'm pretty sure CA Bober delegates are exhibitng a new kind of privilege, hereforto referred to as "delegate privilege"

"Oh, our state will vote blue anyways so fuck unity and fuck the party"

No....fuck you.
