I still don't understand what this is supposed to accomplish. This will just make their movement look childish, not serious.

I ultimately don't know what they want out of this. I mean I doubt anyone is even going to be paying attention to farts and this shit is just childish. A "fart in" really?

So I know this forum is a bit biased towards one side, and I will admit I am too. But, in general does this convention seem to be much better than the GOP one on multiple fronts?

They are complete opposites. Republicans about hate, all lives matter, Hillary is the devil, God is on our side. They are coming for your guns. It's disgusting.

Democrats about helping people, openness, inclusion. Every speech I have heard is inspirational.

This Reddit AMA is a fucking joke.

What the hell happened to Reddit anyways? 95% of the shit on r/politics is ripping Hillary and the DNC. I thought Reddit was mainly liberal millenials? Are they all Bobers or what?

I wonder what it is about Hillary Clinton that makes them so angry.

Susan Sarandon on DNC: “Whether they were hacked by Russia or by aliens doesn’t matter. What matters is in the emails."

Its pretty clear that there is a segment of the far left that is actively working to get Trump elected at this point.

Screams privliage.

I hope Maher gets these people on and tears them a new asshole.

Think about Reddit demographic, how intelligent they really are and the age of most of its users. Any place on the internet where it's easy to make multiple accounts, with great anonymity and little moderation for good discussion isn't a good place to go for political information.

Lack of strong leadership allowed it to descend into anarchy.

Reddit is a failed state.

Sure what matters is those emails, the same can be said for Trump's tax returns. If nothing should be secret then ok.

Susan Sarandon is a fucking asshole. Remember her saying she didn't know who would be worse between Trump or Hillary.

People like her have always been around. The electoral college situation is very different from 2000, however, so don't freak out. This small minority are lost causes, and always have been.

I mean most of the issue with the GOP convention is that Trump has said something to piss off pretty much every minority and oppressed person in the country and is a self-serving businessman who cons gullible people out of money. He doesn't have the humanitarian angle since he's pretty much never done anything for anyone besides himself until he started running for office and you can't discuss policies to make America better because he doesn't have any, just vague promises. Say what you want about the GOP but their convention being 2-note (pretty much only focusing on Crooked Hilary and generic promises) is largely due to their candidate having almost no credentials to be president and having nothing concrete to actually rally behind besides a wall. And of course a lot of the top Republicans don't fully support Trump either.

Meanwhile on the Democratic side of things you got a plethora of amazing speakers of all races, genders, and ethnicities. Probably the four best public speakers in the US right now are all going to speak at the convention. On pretty much all fronts the Democrats have the Republicans out-gunned. There would have to be some serious shit to cause anything other then this to happen.

I dunno. Obviously my Facebook bubble is young (22-35, almost exclusively), but the sheer amount of hyper anti-Hillary stuff I'm seeing is alarming. Fighting back seems to be pointless so I've generally given up.

Fixed that for you.
I think at that point you could just say nowhere is a good place for political discussion. I think food moderation and the ability to not make numerous accounts goes a long way but I do see your point as there will always be biases and communities that lead one way more than the other.

I see the same on my Facebook and Reddit. Maybe, just maybe it's that GAF instead is heavily favored towards the Hillary side and is not indicative of actual public feelings.

That being said, I know full well that 95% of the people on my FB complaining will still inevitably vote for her anyway.

Yeah good point. I've never really gone there much for politics to begin with so maybe it's always been that way. Just seems crazy there's so many...well....crazies.
