Yes.

I actually like how deformed and monstrous he looks. A large nucleur radiated lizard shouldn't look like a normal lizard, but proportionally large. It should have weird length limbs and shit

Yep I love it. It's just a very unnerving monstrous design to me. Especially dig the tiny gnarled hands. This Godzilla's proportions are simply all jacked up.

I tend to think this is a bad idea, unless it's a limited release. Godzilla 2000 was a huge flop in the US - I can't imagine this would be any different.

It will be a limited release. All films that Funimation distributes are limited releases, playing in a small number of theaters once, maybe twice.

29th film by Toho, but 32nd in the franchise...huh? There's the two reboot American reboots, but what's the third one?

Well Godzilla King of the Monsters is different enough from Gojira that it's almost a separate film, but they probably messed up the numbering.

Man I don't care if it flops here just let me sit in a theater and watch it. It's better than waiting until Godzilla 2

IDK, maybe I'm somewhat alone with this but I think this Godzilla looks fucking awesome.

I like the look too. I don't really think a creature of that size would look "cool" or have proportions like an animal nearer to our size. I suspect a creature big as a sky scraper would have very large legs to handle all the weight and much of the mass would be there to do so and to keep it from getting top heavy. That and I like how Godzilla looks like a Volcano, seems to better emphasize the inevitable destructive force behind a lava flow slowly burning and destroying everything in its path. That's me though.

Funimation is bringing it to theaters in the US

AWESOME

YES

I'm running with the theory
this is just a corpse of the original Godzilla, the look definitely imitates the original Godzilla in a number of ways, but more... Corpse-ier. Then his trail is fucking huge though, AND his tail has a face, like it has eyes, a teeth, and such on the tail at the end to imply the tail has a life of its own. I think the reason it shambles so lifelessly is that this is a literal walking corpse of the original Godzilla being controlled by a parasite that's situated in its tail, and I'm betting the fact it's a walking corpse of Godzilla is playing up some major symbolism here.

I had no idea Hideaki Anno was directing this, the movie just went from a pass to a must see for me.

TBH I find something about how he looks in stills here as a model better than anything I've seen of him in motion.
Because in the trailer all we seen is him standing straight up and down because he has no reason to move, Milatary can't do shit. Absolutely love everything about the design but the tiny t Rex arms

Have you guys heard about dem spoilers? Holy Shit.

Via Reddit:

-No replication

-tadpole is real

-Final form we see in the trailers

-More or less same screentime as 2014

Wow, the spoilers are going to be divisive as hell for the fanbase but goddamn, it sounds like a truly unique take on Godzilla, I can't wait.
