Man in suit style isn't the problem its that the suit in this movie looks incredibly stiff. Heisei era Godzilla looked perfectly fine

Man in a suit isn't the problem, it's how lazy it looks, they think this is 1965, gonna put a man in suit, do a better job of tricking me....

It looks good to me, several shots are pretty damn awesome but opinions and all. Then again I don't really want to see Godzilla fighting other monsters either so I'm probably already in the minority there.

I'm actually with you on the fighting monsters bit. I want more Godzilla movies where it's just Godzilla wrecking the shit out of Japan and being scary as fuck (this is probably why Godzilla 1985 is one of my favorites)

2016 and still looks like a dude in a suit...come on Japan, spend some money on CGI..
Man in suit really ins't the problem here. It's just really not well done here. Godzilla just standing 90% of the time in the trailer with his tail moving like that lol, plus the speed at which his tail is moving doesn't sell the scale.

All I need to see. Will forgive the bad CG of the helicopters if his beam is on point.

I like the purple atomic breath.
I think that by choice, it pretty obvious they want 1954 godzilla style suit.
This suit is much thicker around the legs than the 1954 suit. Ironically, it's most like the Heisei suits in that regard.

I enjoyed this trailer, and am really anticipating this Godzilla movie. The design is just growing more and more on me. I really like how Godzilla feels like a damn lava flow, slowlly rolling in and destroying everything in his pass. I like that Godzilla looks like he can barely even movie. It makes him look immense, and in complete agony.

The overall atmosphere of the trailer is great, and is exactly what I want out of a Godzilla movie. My favorite G-film is Godzilla Returns/1985, and the best film in the series is Gojira bar none, so I really wanted to get back to this kind of Godzilla. film There really is a feeling of great despair, and a lack of hope. Godzila looks to be completely unstoppable, like the force of nature he should be. Man will pay for their sins lol.

And man, what the fuck was going on with his mouth at the end of trailer? Can't wait to see what kind of thermonuclear breath weapon Godzilla is packing in this, because that shit looked nasty.

The Atomic breath is giving me GMK feels

I really hate this design. Godzilla 2014 was such a good Showa film I don't know if Japan can match up.

This doesn't look like a Showa essque film, and I'm glad it's not. Deadly serious, antagonistic Godzilla has always been my favorite.

The Atomic breath is giving me GMK feels

I can kinda see that. Man GMK had a great breath weapon, this shit just made me go Wow:

It's my favorite millennium film by far, love it. I have the poster framed in my room, because it looks fucking awesome:

There was something cool about a straight up malevolent Godzilla.

Yeah, that's a great poster.
It was actually the first japanese Godzilla movie I ever saw. Those films were not very popular in my country but after hearing about it online I imported the chinese dvd from a shady website around 2003. I fell in love with it and ended up watching every movie in the series.
I miss the Millenium era, it started just ok but after GMK it became great and stayed that way until the end even though GMK was never topped.

I wonder how it compares to the second trailer for the Amercian Godzilla.

Irrelevant. He was clearly referring to the movie as a whole compared to the Shin Godzilla trailer. And even if you were to compare the two, the 2014 trailer still demonstrates the disaster tone caused by monsters better even if the actual movie wasn't exactly 1:1 with its trailers. So I remain perplexed as to what is considered "a million times better".

GMK is alright but Ghidorah as a good guy didn't sit well with me. Best Millennium era movie is Final Wars. I actually think Godzilla 2000 is a tad underrated as well.

This suit is much thicker around the legs than the 1954 suit. Ironically, it's most like the Heisei suits in that regard.

The Heisei suit was at least proportionate. This suit looks like a really odd mismatch of 1954 upper body with Heisei lower body. I don't even think the Heisei legs got that rediculous.

I don't really like the design in this one

It's just trying too hard and I've never been a big fan of the more gimmicky designs like most of the Millenium series. Which why I'd always like the Heisei design since it was a natural evolution of the original design.

I just wish we could see an updated 54 design without the design bits that make it look like it came from FNAF.

This shit looked freaky as hell. Way excited. Ive been jonesing for another scary Goji like 54 or GMK, but pushed way farther. Looks like that's what I'm getting.

I'm running with the theory
this is just a corpse of the original Godzilla, the look definitely imitates the original Godzilla in a number of ways, but more... Corpse-ier. Then his trail is fucking huge though, AND his tail has a face, like it has eyes, a teeth, and such on the tail at the end to imply the tail has a life of its own. I think the reason it shambles so lifelessly is that this is a literal walking corpse of the original Godzilla being controlled by a parasite that's situated in its tail, and I'm betting the fact it's a walking corpse of Godzilla is playing up some major symbolism here.

Now it seems even freakier.

Even though it most resembles a heisei design?

I really enjoyed the trailer. The music is just... wow. Really beautiful.

I think it looks great overall. Is this going to play anywhere in the US?

At least it seems its going to have more impactful music than 2014 Godzilla. Think one of the biggest problems of that mpvie is the totally forgetable and mediocre soundtrack done by Desplat (come one, of you are not a fucking fan and never touched disaster movie soundtracks, dont even try to make one).
Why they didnt use Giacchino still boggles my mind to this day. That man would have made the movie sound exactly like a Godzilla movie must sound but giving it his own spin. He did amazingly well with the Cloverfield credits, and he is the best at tributing soundtracks when he works with something already famous.

Haven't been a fan of the Japanese Godzilla movies since Godzilla 2000, but I'm actually a little excited for this one.

Loved the older ones as a kid, and still really liked the 90s ones (The King Ghidora, Space Godzilla, Destroyah ones).

That's about the closest one, but even then it hardly looks corpse-like like the latest one.

It's just I don't really care for the exaggerated face and teeth and the decomposing look as a whole. It feels gimmicky to me since Godzilla didn't really need all that to be considered scary.

Ok if nothing else this music is sure to have an incredible score, both trailers have AMAZING MUSIC.

So stoked for this movie, love Godzilla, love Evangelion, LOVE IT ALL.

It does kinda remind me of burning Godzilla with the glowing parts.

Yeah, Shin Godzilla had a very similar glow to Godzilla when he was melting down. And more importantly, they share those thick thighs.

Yeah, that's a great poster.

I'd have to agree with you on the Millnium era. I got a lot of enjoyment from the films that proceeded GMK. And although I do like G2000, and Megaguirus, they do feel like weaker entrees.
