Trump says Putin is 'not going to go into Ukraine,' despite Crimea
Washington (CNN) Donald Trump said Sunday that Russian President Vladimir Putin won't make a military move into Ukraine -- even though Putin already has done just that, seizing the country's Crimean peninsula.
Stephanopoulos interjected to note that Trump has suggested he could recognize Russia's claim on Crimea over Ukraine's -- and Trump didn't back away from that possibility in the interview.

"I'm going to take a look at it," he said. "But you know, the people of Crimea, from what I've heard, would rather be with Russia than where they were. And you have to look at that, also ... just so you understand, that was done under Obama's administration."

Here's the confusing part from 2015: Trump tells Ukraine conference their nation was invaded because ‘there is no respect for the United States’

KIEV, UKRAINE — Plunging into a burning geopolitical conflict, Republican front-runner Donald Trump said Friday that Russia had pursued an aggressive policy in Ukraine because "there is no respect for the United States."

"[Russian President Vladimir] Putin does not respect our president whatsoever," said Trump.

It doesn't matter when his base just wants the nation to revert to segregation. All of us see this,

lets see how fox news is covering it...

Edit:

Nothing.

We keep high fiving eachother over catching Trump out. His base doesn't see/nor care. War has changed.

They all see it as attacks on them.

This is bullshit, saying you are "not involved with that" isn't a legit excuse. It's your people. If you are a leader, you should know what youre people or doing, and if you don't, want to find out. Because they represent you. Similarly, a president doesn't know everything that is going on under him, but as a leader guides the people under him based on what policies they want to have and general desires, etc. People actually think this man can lead anything?

For trying to reassure us by constantly repeating himself... he sure does say a whole lotta nothing.

Also: contradictions and passing the buck everywhere!

I feel he is stumbling more than he did under the primaries. Like, people are calling him out on his bullshit more.

He may have ensnared the GOP with his stupid bullshit, but it would be great if the GE didn't take any of his shit.

If he stumbles his answers anything like this in the debates, Hillary will eat this man alive.

we'll never convince the base

this is a war of attrition, slowly bringing moderates in key swing states over to the Dems with every gaffe

His supporters will respond to this in 3 ways

1. That's not what he's saying, the MSM are misrepresenting what he's saying
2. He's right anyway, Hillary is a warhawk!!!!
3. Who the else cares about ukraine anyway, I never even hear of it!

Paul Manafort also said this morning that their people had nothing to do with changing the platform. Trump directly contradicts that's in this interview.

The best part is that trump'a is pretaped so Manafort should've known.

no one in his base cares. His main appeal is the ability to say vile things to push back against "political correctness ". Also he's not Hillary. There is also sexism because he is as dumb as Palin but Palin was rightfully skewered after the Couric interview.

At this point, he's untouchable. Which is scary as hell.

He bluffs his way through any conversation no matter how important. He will not ever show weakness or ignorance. It's his platform.

Those answers sound like a 14 year old who didn't do his homework, the way he just repeats the questions back with no extra information makes to so transparent he has no idea what he's talking about.

For how much Trump likes to go to literal 2nd Grade name calling with "Lyin' Ted" or "Crooked Hillary" (It physically unsettles me to hear actual adults parrot these), it's kind of sad how strongly both of these names apply to Trump.

Granted, as far as Trump supporters grow, the two must cancel out or something because they don't care. But it's p-r-e-t-t-y obvious Russia would've invaded Ukraine years ago if they weren't under such scrutiny, and it's a little worrying how openly-pandering Trump has been towards Putin. I mean, is his back-up plan to run for Putin's cabinet if things don't work out here?

This guy is going to get absolutely annihilated in the debates.

Anytime he has the screws put to him on a sensitive subject (David Duke, Putin), he acts like he doesn't know anything about what the interviewer is talking about, because he knows that he's easily caught flat-footed on policy, doesn't know any other way to deflect, and has to go confer with his advisors before he can issue any kind of response.

Clinton will shred him in the debates.
