I was using BvS as a comparison for how that kind of opening can still lead to a bomb. If I remember correctly BvS made half its total gross the first weekend right? $400M? That film should've crossed $1B WW but it didn't.

This feels like a bit of an abuse of terminology - a bomb is a movie that is unprofitable, usually spectacular so, not just one that falls short of anticipated profits. It did under-perform significantly compared to expectations and its potential, but it wasn't a bomb. WB would be very unhappy with it, but still made money off it.

It's not a matter of discrediting his opinion, however it does help to look into the reviewers personal taste considering that we're trying to extrapolate the quality of a movie based off of one review right now. Rather than telling people the sky is falling down, it helps to point out that the guy has been middling in his reviews when it comes to comic book blockbusters and action comedies this year.

edit: He gave Force Awakens and Creed 2/4 as well.

The former. We've seen pretty much all of the Batman chase scene if you piece together the TV spots and clips, there's just an extra 10 seconds or so, then he has another scene (two more technically) which is about as brief but more impactful I guess.
Dude has about a min of screentime.
