I feel like it wouldn't be that hard to not announce these things without also announcing the planned content.

I love FF, and I'll certainly end up getting the season pass, but I just don't understand selling a product that you can't tell me anything about.
 
So... roughly $30 for the pass if not bought in this bundle?
Really wish this would be included with the Collector's Edition since I and however many others are spending close to $300 on it, but I digress.
 
They stated that story DLC is coming and that they are planning what to do with it, but I feel like they could have waited until this fall to properly announce what are their plans about it.
 
So 25 dollars for the season pass then? I guess that means we can expect a story dlc. Hopefully it will be worth the price.

This is the first season pass from SE Japan, isn't it?

I agree!
Hoping the season pass may just be for weapon skins and etc. I prefer FFs to be complete mostly. Won't mind as much if it's like a spin off section or something.

Not gonna lie, I was tempted to buy the Ultimate CE since it includes the Noctis action figure; but it seems unfair how you don't actually get everything like that Gamestop exclusive (and this Season Pass).

The more I hold onto my pre-order the more I'm beginning to lean towards that sentiment. Since it won't get to me until like a week after release, I plan on renting the game and checking out people's impressions of the edition before deciding to keep it or return it.
 
Ehhh, better wait to see what the Season Pass is going to contain because the DLC for Final Fantasy XIII-2 was just terrible and overpriced.
 
What the hell...? This doesn't even include the car skins? And it's a Season Pass? What's even in the Season Pass?
 
I e-mailed Square asking if they can share some more details. Hopefully they respond. I don't think they like me very much after the whole release date thing.

Edit: Never mind! Square Enix rep told me they don't have any further information beyond what's available on PSN for now.

A) get the regular edition
B) buy the steelbook kingsglaive movie that comes with the anime
C) maybe get the strategy guide if you into that.

And you save plenty of money. The thing about ultimate CE you don't get all the preorder weapons or the car skins from the different .. It's just a bad deal.

Does Sony offer refunds for PSN preorders? I would have purchased this instead if it was available.

my guess: Square Enix had to cut content in order to make the release in September and this content will be the Season Pass

It actually was "dlc" if you got the Japanese version or American. Dark Aeons were only added for the international version.

Nothing changed, except you don't have to buy the game again if you want all the content or wait for the complete edition
 
DLC in an RPG isn't inherently a bad thing. If done well it's basically an expansion. Square have added stuff to their games toooons of times in the past (that's basically what all the International editions and Final Mixes are). But yeah, would be nice to know what's in this. Shame this couldn't have been officially announced first so we'd have a clear picture.

Actual info: they haven't started working on the DLC yet because they are still porting and polishing the game to PS4 and X1.

Why should jrpgs be treated different than other games? How is a jrpg more of a comlete project than a wrpg?

I have the Deluxe Edition pre-ordered instead. Got a 20% discount on Amazon, so I'm okay with that. :)
