so how do you like the game so far? is it bad? nothing to explore? i sort of am terrified that the game sucks.

i have pre-ordered the LE but so many peeps talk shit about this game....
 
Just trying to decide PC v PS4:

Are there plans for mod tools for PC?

Do you have to press R3&L3 a lot on the console version? That hurts my thumbs, pc has steam controller + elite controller with remapping to paddles.

Has anyone played the pc version here?

Yeah, it improved a lot. Improved shadow quality and textures is also very noticable. This makes the pre-patch version of the game look like some alpha-build, hehe.
 
Patch is online in germany as well! In case anyone cares ¯|_(ツ)_/¯
824 MB, piece of cake nowadays, even with my countryside connection.

Personally I think it's amazing and I was really down on the game until I saw some streams.

I've been to over 20 planets and the desire to find more hasn't lessened.
 
Seriously hope my GAME LE turns up tomorrow morning so I can get a few hours in. I go to Ireland tomorrow evening for a week! Gaahh!

GAF will have discovered everything by the time I get back :D
 
Played a bit more post patch, really don't want to get into it until I'm sure the server reset has happened.

I got lost in caves, properly lost. :(
 
The worst part about NMS is that it's releasing in the hottest week of the year. It's going to be the battle of hype vs. having the life sucked out of me by the heat and humidity.
 
I'm waiting to see if this game still has much of a pull after 20+ hours before I pull the trigger myself. I'm afraid after a certain amount of time you will see the planets as palette swaps rather than distinct locations you will remember.

It's definitely really ambitious though so I can totally appreciate what they are aiming for!
 
People probably already know but if your pre loaded on PS4 and select options over the game icon and check for updates it will download the new patch.

But no I will wait and read your impressions here instead .

PC version is better be worth it -_-

Servers reset again tonight.

However I think that only affects the discoveries you have uploaded; not your actual progress or progression.

You have to be careful in NMS. If you feel like you're STARTING to get lost, backtrack, make sure you know where you are.

The caves are way more majestic and beautiful than Minecraft's. A lot less creepy though.

That and creature variation are literally my only two qualms about the unpatched game.
 
Aand bought it. 48 euros on Kinguin, not bad. Now the waiting. I hope it unlocks on Steam on the 12th (00:00) in my time zone.

Yeah this PC delay is hitting me hard. I already bought the special edition or I might have jumped ship

Yeah. I'm going to give it a bash when I get home.

The game was already really good without the patch, so hopefully the patch just hammers it home.

Read the patch notes to get an idea of the stuff they improved. For me, the most exciting things are the galactic economy (it's far too basic pre-patch) and the balancing of where resources appear on-planet (once you get to know the most lucrative resources, it's way too easy pre-patch to farm them and become a millionaire in no time).

Consensus so far seems to indicate a considerable improvement to draw distance and reduced pop-in. There's a couple streams playing post-patch but I'm avoiding them now. Only 2 days to wait for me.

Yes, wednesday night at 00:00, so the night from tuesday to wednesday.

It's so frustrating. Having the game ready with Patch and everything just waiting on the HD to unlock -______-
 
It's finally almost here! I've waited so long!

I won't be able to play very long tonight at all. But I took off Friday and I will explore all frigging day. Yesssssssssssss!

I dont see the same pop in improvements as others, especially when roaming a planet it seems like its almost forming before my eyes. In this game though i can forgive that totally.

The main thing for me is increased inventory space and stack sizes, makes a world of difference. Loving the game at the minute.
