Some of those ships in the post-patch footage from the youtube stream earlier were kind of pricy.

Like 500k pricy.

Also the Streamer made like 20k Units just for selling some Gold he mined on his starting planet.

So the 10k credits we get for pre-ordering is kind of a insignificant thing. I guess maybe the ship might be more valuable though.

Some folks that may not want to use the pre-order ship might want to see if they can sell it for credits and use that to buy one of the starter ships instead.

Yeah the whole thing with the preorder ship is cool but I kinda wanted to have to earn it.

Ok GAF Hype. Prove me you are right come Friday.

Ubisoft Hype Machine Master is ready to be blasted away.

Guess Ill just have to purchase the US copy if I want to play tomorrow.. Digitally too :o

Oh well im sure itll be a fucking amazing game. Like Freelancer back in the day!

When does the preorder end on the US store? I dont want the fast ship or anything else basically. I would like a theme rofl

Just got home from a trip and saw that the HG's steam post about delaying PC until Friday.

They had all this time to change the date and clarify on the largest sales platform for PC. And they choose 2 days before release to change the date. I'm super pissed about this because I've planned PTO day, prepped my SO to know that I won't be available for shit on Tuesday, etc.

All this time and they choose 2 days before supposed release to clarify. That's lazy and really fucked up. I'm very upset by this.

The PC version coming out on Friday has been suspected for quite some time now to be fair.

Here I brought a rare gift for all you NMS fans:

It's called the phallus genitalis cocktus. They're the actual, real reason for the patch. HG had to purge all cocktuses from the universe before general public release, the rest of the patch notes are a smokescreen for this culling.

Just got my email confirming The Game Collection have sent my copy out so i should have it tomorrow for certain now.

Cant wait to finally play :)

Watching a stream right now and it looks so amazing. The draw distance is way better than what was shown in the pre release footage, really happy about that. Can't wait for tomorrow!

Really interested in what the critics think of the game. Having played pre-patch for about 4 hours last night and about half hour today I am really, really enjoying it. I think they delivered on all their promises and there are enough hooks in the gameplay to keep me coming back. Especially when there are going to be regular updates with new content.

It is going to be a GREAT weekend duders! Waiting till Friday for PC release - but considering it was meant to be out since 6/22 I can hold out a few More DAYS!

Meh, store 10 minutes away from me already has it in stock but I want/need to wait for the PC release. I really hope it won't be a mess ....

Surely someone here will start a thread where we'll be able to show and compare our "home planet" (if it's still a thing).

That would be fun !

Sean pursued his passion project. Even though he looks tired as hell, I bet he is loving every second.

I can't even express how inspired and in awe I am by him and HG. This was his dream game he wanted to play, and he made it. Five years of his life. FIVE YEARS.

Yes, this unknown and unclarified date could have easily been mitigated earlier with 10 minutes of Steam edit time and or PR post. Until yesterday, AFAIK, the date on steam was the 9th (US). I get that they are busy and this does not reduce my hype for this game; nevertheless, this could have been handled much better.

They were filming that outside my work in Toronto last week. First time I had heard of it, I will check it out.

Please do! I think it's the nearest thing on TV that comes close to the Battlestar Galactica (reboot) series, as in; a bit gritty and 'realistic'. Books are fun as well; altough a bit more 'straight forward' compared to other scifi from authors like alistair reynolds or peter f hamilton.

Indeed - that's why I want this game to be a massive success for them.
Stuff like that is why I'm rooting for the game and the team. Not just because it's such a cool concept, and I love exploration, and whatnot, but beneath all that is this uplifting story of a small team with big ambitions and their long road of huge highs and successes, devastating lows and struggles, and finally achieving their goal in the end.

That's why this pic is so awesome
It's like the freeze frame at the end of an underdog sports movie

The IGN interview chronicles a lot of the fascinating aspect of the early development. How they literally walled themselves off from the rest of the team. How they plastered their walls with sci-fi book covers and worked in secret. How Geoff Keighley came by and kind of realized the guys were working on something big, and offered them a reveal at the VGAs. How Sean got cold feet and tried to have the VGA trailer pulled. Being backstage after the reveal being complemented by guys like Tim Schafer and hugging with the team. The weird disconnect after the reveal between the NMS team and rest of Hello Games, and how the flood brought everyone together. Sean's rallying speech about how they'd be at E3, even though everyone knew that probably wasn't going to happen as they were trying to bounce back from the flood.
