He was up against the Olympics, this guy lives on ratings.

Oh yeah, that's right! People predicted Trump wouldn't be able to stand a few days being out of the limelight and would probably resort to one of his stupidest statements yet to get attention back on him.

And they were right. He did.

The Onion made that last December, though. Before the primaries even started.

And it was funny then because people kept saying Trump had no shot at the nomination despite all evidence to the contrary. Now people are using it to argue Trump will win... despite all evidence to the contrary.

Shit, Women's Team Gymnastics are on tonight, I gotta knock this one outta the park!"

Implying, not inferring, geez.

How is he not disqualified yet? There's a line in the sand, and he keeps crossing it. At what point will people wake up and make him ineligible for office?

Four days seems to be the maximum amount of time Trump can stay on the leash. He just can't help himself.

Pathetic. WTF has a part of this country done to us?...He's taking all his shots now because he knows he doesn't have shit for the debates.

There's no mechanism for that. He is the GOP nominee. He'd have to remove himself from the ticket. And even then, state filing deadlines are passing as we speak. The window for changing the nominee is basically closed.

This so pisses me off, how, if he shows up and doesn't drool all over himself, he gets a gold star like some sort of fucking hero!

It's been discussed how often Trump's gaffes have lowered the bar for expectations. A couple days of decent teleprompter reading somehow absolves him of months of racist fuckery to some. Then it all comes crashing down even lower the next day and the bar drops lower for the next time.

Most pollsters have him losing by 7-15%.

If it's actually 15% it would be the biggest margin we've seen in roughly 35 years.

To put that into perspective and explain some of the bafflement here in Europe: the last time someone even remotely close to Trump was up in the presidential race in France in 2002, he lost by 65% (no that's not a typo).

Then again, we had Brexit just a month ago...

It's funny because even if it's meant to be a joke in really bad taste, it really reflects his honest opinion of "2nd amendment people". He thinks they're so unhinged that they would murder their political opponents.

I don't think he has a chance to win but I'm really scared of what kind of right-wing terror attack takes place after he loses.

Can the Americans tell me if this getting the media play it deserves?
Not really.

One side of our nation watches fox news. They've already done damage confrol/ignored it.

The dangerous side.

The rest of the news is ignored by the people that need to hear it the most. So it's just a circle jerk of people that already know he's shit.

Trump feels like one of those hard boss battles where you always think you're at the final form because holy fuck it can't get any worse than that, but then there is another and it's much crazier than the previous.

Trump is basically Yiazmat

"You're treating Trump like he is the most articulate man"

This guy who is defending him on CNN is doing it by calling him an idiot who says dumb shit all the time.

I think he already crossed the line a long ago with the comment for a "total and complete" ban on Muslims entering the United States. Calling for the assassination of Hillary really doesn't surprise me. Trump already knows his chances of winning are over. He's a sore loser.

That's Duncan Hunter (R-CA)

"this isn't the first time he's done this, and it won't be the last"

He's doing his best, bless his heart
