Highly doubtful. Even the most optimistic predictions still leaves it weaker than Scorpio. So if that is a problem for some they should either wait for Scorpio better yet build a PC.

Why should Sony announce any more games? they already have a huge 1st/2nd party exclusive games for the next 2 years. They don't need to show new games to convince people. They just need to show amazing graphics for already announced games and they have GOW, Horizon & Uncharted 4 for that.

The recent rumored clock boost gave a lot of folks hope. Myself included. I would want the best console hardware specs for the best plug-and-play experience available now.

I have a Gaming pc and laptop, but I love easy accesibility. I know pc gaming has become much more approachable in recent years but I still wouldnt want to deal with extra hassles of pc gaming.

Its the #1 reason why Im on board for console hardware upgrades. And as being on the PlayStation family since PS1 and a power enthusiast though, being stuck with the inferior console for the rest of the gen will be extremely dissapointing considering how dominant multiplats have become this gen.

Xbox Scorpio going to have to sell for people to even care or else it would be looked at as just another PC that can play the UWP games. I don't remember much noise being made when the UWP games that are out now released on PC & can be played in 4K vs the PS4. I don't think PC devs are too happy about what MS is doing & Scorpio is going to have to make a big impact to convince devs that they should make UWP games instead of normal PC games & Xbox games..


UWP is pissing off Epic , Valve & EA on the PC side so you have to wonder if they will give in & make UWP games especially if Scorpio isn't a hit out of the gate.

Well, I'll give you that, Sony have made killer E3 announcements. And yeah like many I'd faint if R* announced RD 3.
I'm expecting more holiday titles and first party stuff we know of like Horizon or GTSport to be used to show off Neo.

PGW is more likely where a few brand new games will be introduced.

There is zero chance of this happening at any point in time unless Sony put that upgraded CPU in that was discussed.

This exactly. I really don't understand why people keep comparing only specs and not price and release date. The power difference means nothing if there is a sizable price difference.

If MS launches next year at $499 (I think they won't, they'll go for $399) and Sony can drop to $349 or even $299 next holiday, then I wish MS good luck. Even with Neo at $299 next holiday and Scorpio at $399, I think MS could have a hard time even with the current power difference.

Anyway, I hope for a great show at the PlayStation Meeting. The last one was great. Too bad they didn't announce the Meeting with a teaser video like last time, out of nowhere (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g82C4Nu_Jq8).

You are right. You should deactivate the PS4 as your main console. I got screwed over already with that and had limited use of my replacement PS4 for 6 months.

Wiping the memory is also necessary, but I don't need to do that since I plan to remove my 2TB hard drive and put in a crappy 500gb before I sell it.

Downsampling? If the game internally renders at a much higher res, your TV is going to downsample that automatically to its native res

Nope. Everything they've shown so far is on the original PS4. I believe it was Shuhei who said it. So, on that note, yeah, Horizon's gonna look amazing on the Neo.

Now that I think about it, I wonder what they'll name the console? "Neo" is just the code name, right? The same way Morpheus was for the VR. Going by that, we're likely to get a boring name. Shame.

If the Neo is decent and worth the upgrade I may take a pass on PlayStation VR. As we get closer to October I thought that by now I would have a better understanding of what it would be like and whether it would be worth the investment. However I don't think Sony have truly sold it to me yet and justified my intent to purchase. I think it looks like a great piece of kit but I wonder how strong support will actually be for it in the long run.
I'm also curious how they present the Neo for the large majority of people who still do not own a 4K capable tv.
